Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017

Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)

I'm at DM. Any help would be great! Maybe study tips or just info on how you review for an exam or test... like calculations... I think I have the just of it but I'm not 100 percent. Did you pass on the first try?

I did and I hate math! I have a formula sheet I can send that helps me. PM your email. As for regular tests. The boxes....are the key. If you see boxes or tables pay attention. I can most certainly can try to give yo some tips...

I will send it to you in just a bit. It doesn't contain the roman numeral stuff so be sure to review those. It also has IV dosage stuff which you will not due this semester so just ignore that.

Just remember in this process it will be trial and error until you figure out what works for you. Keep your study groups smaller it gets to much if there are to many. We spent a lot of time studying in small groups and always came together the morning of the exam to study together. That way other classmates may have a quirky way to remember something that will help you.

Its all about what your job is and responsibility to your patient.

On the exams, always keep your patient safe first!!!!! Airway, Breathing and Circulation always have priority so if you don't know the answer look for the one that keeps your patient alive and safe. I'm working on some stuff now myself for class but I will write down some notes later and post in here. I don't remember if they will take my email out or not but my email at school is srobles4@hawkmail. If any of you need anything or just wanna vent I'm here. I was just there, I'm there now with NP2. Stay focused don't wait to the last minute ever!!!!!

Did anyone else get the Fundamentals Success book? I've found it to be extraordinarily helpful with rationals.

Also in the first week I've done probably 500 questions on adaptive quizzing (trying to get proficiency on all of my topics) but some of those questions (SATA questions esp.) are SUPER DIFFICULT. I usually bank out with 70%-75%? I dunno I just really want an A. -_-

Yea, I've gotten proficiency on all of the different topics that I've tested so far.

I'm not sure if the scores I've been getting, because the later questions are really REALLY difficult, is indicative of the success I'm trying to get.

Don't worry about the grade you get for those. The important part is working to adjust your thought process. That is what it is teaching you. It starts off easy then gets harder every level. The goal is to just work on selection. Especially those select all and best choice questions.

Is this thread still active? Im new here and planning to get to nursing in HCC

But still have my international transcript evaluated by Naces then will bring to HCC

Worried because my GPA is very incompetent didnt do well during my college days way back

Question is will HCC give me other option if my GPA is low?

Really want to finish nursing in HCC since they are the cheapest and closest to my area

You might want to talk to the nursing program folks at Dale Mabry. If you have a C in the prerequisite courses I don't think they will let you take it again. USF has something where you can go back and retake courses if they are over a certain amount of years, if they still do it.

how long has it taken to finished all the prerequisite courses needed for the nursing program in HCC? asking because i am planning on taken them. but they admission office hasn't provided me with answers yet.
