Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017

Published

Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)

Yes, I am going through the pages with the reviews. Is it the same as the "ATI manual"? should I buy their manual also or it will be a waste of money? (since I have the pages with the reviews from the previous TEAS).

I got some apps last night and started working on it.

I will try my best to get at least 10 extra points.

I get it: the test is not hard; it depends on your estate of mind. If I had taken that test a few years ago, when my brain was fresher and less tired, maybe my results would be much better than the actual. It really depends of "where you are with your life".

But, I am trying not to hide behind excuses...it is what it is and I know I am capable. I will do my best and the rest is pure fate - somethings are meant to happen, for a reason.

You guys are such a great group! thank you.

:)

the pages are exactly as the ATI Teas STUDY MANUAL (6th edition). There is definitely no need to waste another $30ish in my opinion. I wish I knew that before I bought the book.

Some of the apps are pretty good to be honest.

And the test isn't that easy-especially the science part. My brother is a firefighter emt (he even teaches some training classes at PSC) and he is even worried about taking it to get his RN. He warned me how hard it was and to study, study, study.... the rest is left to fate just like you said. :)

Is anyone planning to study only and not working at all after get accepted in the nursing program?

I don't plan on working either. I have a 6 month old daughter and I have sick parents that I will be taking care of.

You're welcome.

The benefit of study group has variables. One, depends on your learning style. Some people do really good and even need study groups. I have ADD (unmedicated) so I need breaks often when I'm studying, so I always did my studying on my own. Two, alot of times study groups ends up turning into a get together and group looses focus of what they're there for. Study time is so so precious to be wasting it. Although I did observe in my class a study group of 3 that did well, but they were very focused and wouldn't talk about anything except study material. So, I'd say if you must use a study group, make it small and have someone in charge to redirect any side conversations.

Pricanlady... IM so happy we have your input. It really helps!!!

Do study groups actually help with this program?

I have kid and elderly at home too. I don't think I can work because of that, and skip working for 2 years or more is difficult too. Money disappearing 💵. :roflmao:

So if anyone is interested, I had to call the cashiers office to inquire about a balance on my account. They said that there was one payment made back in march and took a moment to but two and two together, but it was my nursing application fee. So! If you are interested in knowing if your application was received that may be one way of finding out? Maybe? Hope yall have a great week!

Hey guys!

I don't know if y'all noticed but 2017 Fall Term class schedules are out. I hope it's reliable because as of right now these are the Nursing I schedules:

Dale Mabry mornings: 9-12 class Thursday/Friday. Clinical Tuesday/Wednesday

Dale Mabry afternoons: 1-4 class Thursday Friday. Clinical Tuesday/Wednesday

Southshore: 1-4pm Class Tuesday/Wednesday clinical Thursday/Friday

Plant City: 1-4pm Class Tuesday/Wednesday clinical Thursday/Friday

it's getting exciting... and nerve wrecking. :)

Is that clinical Thur or Fri? Clinical is still once a week--right?

The site says once a week. So maybe it depends on your clinical location.
