Anybody applying ...? =)

Great News about all HCC Campuses!! As of January 1st, 2013 all campuses will be 100% Tobacco free! This not only includes outside areas, but also any and all property owned by HCC including parking lots and garages! I have copied a part of the policy below just in case anyone wants to know the details. How refreshing! :)

"Tobacco-use is prohibited on all Hillsborough Community College properties, including owned and leased buildings, student housing, outdoor areas, parking lots and garages, courtyards, entrance and exit ways, and college vehicles. This policy includes all types of tobacco and tobacco-like products, including smoked and smoke-less tobacco, other smokeable products, and electronic cigarettes."

hey jfuente10,

I just came back from purchasing the textbook package, and I also got 11 out of the 13 items in the box. But I think the pageburst card has our access codes to access the eBook for our clinical calculations, medical surgical, and Fundamentals of nursing textbooks. So it's three access codes for these three ebooks one one card.

The box was really heavy, at least for me because I don't have strong arms. I brought a book bag with me so I was able to open the box and put the two biggest textbooks (med/surg and fundamentals ) in my book bag and carried the rest in the box with no problem.

I'm so glad to hear that! I was freaking out a little lol. Did you see how much we have to study for the clinical calculations?

Yea I know! I flipped through it and it looks like a math book but hopefully it's straight forward, easy to learn. We have the next three weeks to understand and know all of this before that Important Clinical calc exam. We all so got this! lol

Did you buy the patches? I should have asked them about it while I was there...

They ran out of have them at DM Campus but PC has some

Was it the discounted price? We're you able to "charge" to your FinAid account?

The price was already discounted. The price including tax came out to $626.54 .I payed out of pocket because FinAid money isn't available yet. FinAid should be able to reimburse for textbooks once I show receipt

Everything was included in the box after all then? No missing merchandise?

Yea everything is included. The reason why we thought we were missing two things was because there's a card that contains an access code for all three of the PageBurst ebooks that are on our list.

First, I want to say congratulations to everyone that got into the program!!! I am a NP2 student and I have been reading your thread and could remember how exciting it was to know that I am that much closer to be what I have always knew I would become and that's of course a nurse. Prepare for the ride of your life!!!! It's not gonna be easy but you CAN do it if you put your mind to it.... Prepare for your calculation test! It is not as hard as many people think it is but if you don't study of course it will be difficult, but if you study you WILL pass the test!!!! NOBODY on my class failed!!! So study hard and focus!!! If you have any specific questions and I know the answer I will be more than happy to answer them!!!! Again, congratulations and the best of luck to you ...

talie04, this is my first time applying for fin aid while at hcc (i'm not rich, just a student returning after 15 years!!!). how does fin aid "reimburse" us? i mean, i can put these on my cc for now, but wasn't sure how to pay myself back... and once funds are received, they will go to my onecard which will work as a visa. is that right? can anyone help with answering my financial aid questions? please?!? i was going to call the office tomorrow as well, but figured i would ask students who have first-hand experience -- which i think is more reliable.

i thought i was doing ok with getting everything else done, but now i feel like i'm falling behind seeing that some folks are already reading. good for you, btw! i'm sorta jealous. i can't wait to get my hands on that clinical calcs. book...

i appreciate anyone who can shed some light on the financial aid process. thanks in advance!

Has anyone received an email regarding the hospital training we need to complete? In fact any emails at all....I have not received a single email since this process started! If so can someone please give me a contact email, thanks holly
