Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.
I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?
What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?
well this makes me feel better.. I have so many transfer credits, I already had a bachelors degree. I guess I will go in next week on my day off and do the degree audit, because they told me I couldn't do that until I was registerd for the fall. I am the same way as you, especially with all the problems I have had with financial aid before!
also if I have problems, can you come help me.. I am not so good with the "heads will roll" part, more of a pushover haha

I believe that until we can register for classes, ie, orientation, there is nothing else we need to do. That is what I heard from HCC last week. We cant register for classes, they do not even know the cost yet so we are in limbo until after orientation. Of course trying to talk to someone over the phone is useless. They haven't received my FAFSA yet, although the government is saying that they should have a week ago. I called HCC live and they wouldn't let me talk to anyone and said my case was unique and someone would get back to me in 48 business hours, that is like 6 business days lol.
Hey Kikilynn, nothing has changed on my progress toward degree.
How excited are you guys?? What do we need to bring to the orientation? Obviously paper and something to write with.... I just did all of my vaccinations and blood work for MTI's application, so hopefully it will be good enough for HCC.
What about scrubs? What color are we going to need to buy? Will we need to pay for anything at orientation? Just wondering how much I need to save from my upcoming paycheck.
My boyfriend gave me a Littmanns Cardiology stethoscope for my birthday. He said it's the same one that he uses and that I will be able to hear the heartbeat of the person next door when using it. :)
Aren't we supposed to have a CPR license on the first week of the school in August? According to that letter, it says no ONLINE CPR courses or certificate is acceptable. Did you already have yours, Eyoung?

No, but I'm going to have to get it soon because I'm going to take the exam to get my CNA certification. I read somewhere that we should wait until right before or when school starts because the license expires after two years (or is it just one year??). I think I'll probably just go to the Red Cross. We were thinking about taking some free classes there as well (free as long as you volunteer in an emergency or after a catastrophe).
Did anyone notice the discrepancy listed on the two acceptance letters? The original acceptance letter (and the email with the orientation date change) lists orientation to begin at 08:30 but on the campus assignment letter has the time as 09:30. I sent an email to MF for clarification. I would hate to be an hour early or and hour late.

I sent an e-mail to MF, her reply was: "The last acceptance letter you received with your campus assignment has the correct Orientation date". I guess, that means that Orientation starts at 9.30am...
