Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010

Published

hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

who else?! :)

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.

I have tried emailing MF about 5 times (the first time starting around October), and I haven't received one actual email... just the stupid out-of-office one!!! I'm sure everyone's account is like that since they certainly aren't on the ball with a lot of things.

I'm going to do the postcard thing, and I'm handing it in tomorrow. I can see if my status will change if I've received the postcard back. I'm not looking forward to the lines, but I had no choice since colleges waited until forever to send my transcripts :(.

Tebyrd...

Yes...Admissions and Records would probably be your better bet, I am guessing. BUT...I held for 35 minutes today and never got a human being (at A & R)...so I don't know!

I guess continued e-mails to MF might be the next option??

Good luck, and talk to you soon!

Good news everyone! I took some advice from the Spring 2010 thread and checked 'My Profile' in WebAdvisor to see if it said "Applicant" under the "Major" column and it and it does. i'm pretty sure it didn't say that before. Does it say the same thing for you guys?

Squeen you should be able to drop it in the HS drob box on the 1st floor of student services. Good luck though :)

Well...today, I have "Applicant" listed under MAJOR. AND...my transcripts and such are LISTED under My Documents...BUT the status on all of them is NOT RECEIVED and the due date is ASAP.

I am wondering if this is just an internal communication between the departments, because it makes no sense. How do they list all the transcripts by college name, etc.. if they have never been received?? I just hope they get it all straight by the 15th!

I've seen the 'applicant' thing for awhile. I think they put it when you first register at HCC and ask for your major. Unless anyone else had something different before?

Awwe man :( so much for that theory. I don't think it said applicant under mine before but that's probably just wishful thinking on my behalf.

I dropped mine off today, thank God I didn't have to wait in line!!!

I did the postcard thing, and I'm anxious to see when I get it back....

As far as the "My Docs" on webadvisor is concerned... idk. I've been a dual enrolled student there for a while and have set them my ACT, high school, and college transcripts before and none of them show up, so I'm a bit suspicious as to if the new ones will show up. For the profile thing, it may just show applicant if you are a new applicant to the school and program. Mine shows up as A.A.-medical, but that is my major as of now.

I hope everything gets figured out. I read previous posts and they did mention something about seeing "health science applicant" (then later it changed when they were accepted) on hawknet or something, but I don't know if they've changed things!!! :(

Squeen I think that helps to know. So now (here I go with my theories again, lol) I think them reflecting the documents after the applications have been dropped off indicates that they actually have been received. Are you hoping to do the day program or the night/weekend?

I hope so! I did send the postcard and am checking my mailbox vigilantly! If they opened it that day, I would expect it Friday/Saturday...

I signed up for the day program, and picked Plant City, Southshore, and Dale Mabry!

I'm sure you'll be receiving it soon. Mine literally came after about two days.

Good news!! I got an e-mail on hawknet tonight saying they received my application..... but my documents still say 'not received'.
