hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).
who else?! :)
edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
Hello guys-
I was so worried about HCC not receiving all my papers. But they did! I copied the postcard idea with my application and I received the postcard signed last week :) I wish the wait wasn't so long! and I hope they calculate everything right.
I took A&PI over a 7week summer and I believe it fried my brain. Though I received an A, when I took A&PII in the fall I received a B?? I was going in thinking it would be a breeze! :/ Oh well. It's my only B, but I still am not getting my hopes up.
Good luck to everyone!
Okay so now I'm confused/nervous. I see all of the documents I turned in last week now posted under my documents (application, fee, consent form, college transcript) plus my pre-reqs and high school transcript now appear in WebAdvisor under "My Documents" however the status reads "Not Received". Prior to my having dropped those documents off nothing appeared under the My Documents section. Also, I received back the self addressed envelope that I submitted with my application packet. What the heck does this mean? Like my items are reflected now down to the description of the university that I received my first degree from but it says they haven't received them. Thoughts? I'm freaking out given the five day countdown AND this is the first week of school and of course have to go to work during business hours this week so I"m afraid the lines at campus may be too long for me to try to go during lunch and sort this out
After lurking this site for a while, I decided to join :).
I am planning on dropping my packet off bright and early Tuesday morning!! I am sooooooo not looking forward to the wait (from previous posts I assume we'll know around March)!!
Nursing was actually the last thing on my mind, but after transferring between 3 different colleges and multiple majors, it has become my number one goal. I'm selecting Plant City as my first choice, but I don't care where to be honest! From my pre-req grades, I calculated a 3.62. I have already taken about 60+ credit hours of nonsense and have wasted 3 years, but i think I finally have it figured out!
anyways.... enough about me.
I wish all of you the best of luck, and I'm sure I'll be posting here repeatedly as my anxiety builds!
Nick,
I'm at work in a quiet office building right now so I can't call today. I may go up there on my lunchbreak tomorrow but I know this is terrible timing since school just started and the lines will be ridiculous! When you say you're on hold, are you holding on the phone or do you mean that they've literally placed a hold on your account for some reason? Oh no, that would be just cruel

Hey Nick! I took it at Ybor. I was told it was a crazy idea but if I hadn't taken it then I would have been delayed another year so...I bit the bullet. I learned a lot by doing that semester though (I'm sure you know there were tests every freaking week) so I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'd trade the B that I got though, lol.I can't imagine having TWO children (boys at that) and trying to balance everything. Kudos to you b/c I think I'd officially go insane! I'm not sure how we'd share the emails...hmmm maybe we'll have to be creative. Wait, isn't there a direct message function on here?
