Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

who else?! :)

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.

I am applying for Fall 2010 as well. I know that high school and college transcripts must be submitted and a nursing application as well. The application fee is $53. And I believe the deadline for Fall is coming soon. You can mail or take your application in person. Good luck!

Here's the link to the application. If that doesnt work go to www.hccfl.edu and search "nursing program" it will take you to the website.

i believe i'll be applying for the plant city night/weekend option as well, even though i've always imagined doing the daytime program. but since i've been taking my pre-reqs mostly at night, thus i've become a night owl.

Awesome! Hopefully we'll be going through it together:D

I plan on applying for Fall 2010. Have completed the pre-reqs... but was wondering...

Does HCC accept by the order that the applications come in? Or do they review them all at the end of the deadline? I know the deadline is January... I'm debating whether to turn my application in now for the Fall of next year or waiting for the end of the semester so my grades from this semester will be included.

Also, how long did everyone wait to get into the nursing program after applying? How high should GPA be when applying?

NS09-I could be very wrong but I speculate that no reviews are done until after the deadline based on my reading of the Spring '10 acceptance thread.

Again my disclaimer should be issued with this statement too ( I could be wrong) but the GPA is based off the pre-requisites alone and don't think the co-reqs are calculated into that so I don't know if this semesters grades would benefit you if your pre-reqs are already complete.

No clue about the GPA but based on that other thread it looked like a 3.3 was the lowest that I saw for a person that was accepted. You may want to try asking these same questions on that thread though since that class has already received acceptance letters and assignments.

Hey there,

I am ALSO applying for Fall 2010 admission into the Nursing program. I am bummed to have to wait from now until Aug. to be accepted and BEGIN, but I am just finishing up Micro, my last pre-req. I have not yet heard what the LAST ground GPA (for Spring 2010 start) was for acceptance, but I know that the one before it was 3.45! If anyone knows, please post!! This is only going to get more competitive, I believe!! Take care, all, and happy studying!!

Hi all,

I will re-apply this fall 2010 as well. If you are HCC student, all you need is an application and 53$.

You do not need to send your high school transcript since it is in their system.

The GPA will be calculated only pre-req classes, however; if the candidates have same gpa. The more credit you earn; the better chance to get in.

I was accepted to fall2008, but I couldn't study because I have to move to virginia with my husband. I was mad at him because I have found that to get in to nursing program up here even more harder!! Anyway, I heard that the GPA at HCC getting higher every year. I really don't know if I can get in this time.

Nickdost,

On the Spring 2010 thread I'm pretty sure there was someone on there who was accepted with a 3.3 but you can check out that thread for more info. I recently was told by an HCC faculty member that the floor for the last acceptance group was a 3.38 but all could be speculation.
