hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).
who else?! :)
edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
I still haven't received a response on the Math seminar...wondering if it is full already?
Tebyrd...I feel your pain. The hospital orientation was a nightmare for me. I literally wasted 5 hours before I was finally able to complete it (which took 2 more hours!). When I finally got to the verification page, I actually took a picture of it (on my computer screen) because I was so nervous that something would go wrong in the printing process!! There is NO support for it, through Baycare, either. I tried for two days and finally got a response...two people telling me to call the other person (that I had already contacted)! My advice to anyone is to ONLY have the orientation open on your computer (close ALL other applications), and "TEST OUT" on each of the modules, because the questions are MOSTLY common sense. This will reduce the time it will take you to get through it. Good luck!!
Islandcharmed,
I did the same thing, and got a reply, as well. I hope it will be VERY worthwhile, because I have to get childcare AND rush from clinicals on Wed. the 1st in order to attend. If there is anyone out there that has attended the math4nurses seminar, please let us know how effective you thought it was, etc.
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I am new to this site, but I've looked at a few of your posts. I just finished NP1 in may. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be, I promise. You will be very busy, but if you put in the time you will pass. Best advice I can give you is do not get behind. Stay ahead! I notice many of you are concerned about math. Don't stress yourself out over clinical calculations test. Do the exercises in your math text (i think it's Kee) and memorize the conversions and you will be fine. My classmates and I stressed way too much over that exam, and laughed about it after. Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone,
On my FOURTH try, I was able to complete the orientation...hope everyone else was successful. Tebyrd, Did you finally get through it?? Also, Tebyrd...you CAN get the bandage scissors and pen light at the bookstore (in case no one else answered that question for you.)
I sent an e-mail to register for the Math seminar, but have not received a response. Thank you Elga and islandcharmed, for the heads up! Did either of you receive confirmation on your enrollment in it?
