hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).
who else?! :)
edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
HI everyone, i was wondering if anyone (DM morning) has gotten through all of the assigned readings? I am so overwhelmed and class has not even started yet:crying2:. I got through the orientation in my first try...took like 3 hours but at least it is done. i guess it was not a good idea to start it at 11:30pm. One more thing...i was wondering if any DM morning students live in the brandon area that would not mind giving me a ride to class the first day...maybe 2 at the most? I had to put my car in the shop and may not get it back in time for class on Wed:eek:. I only need a ride TO class not back home and i can meet you somewhere convienient in the morning at whatever time...I will even contribute to gas. Please let me know...and thanks in advance.
Kmangirl,
I have two chapters left to read in P&P and I also need to finish the practice problems in Chap. 8 of Clinical Calculations. I have reviewed all of the skills, but do NOT feel confident that I could properly demonstrate them, so I intend to go over them until I feel a little better about it all. It has been overwhelming for me, too. In fact, you could really say that nursing school started the day we got her e-mail!!! I had planned on spending MUCH more quality time with my little ones. They start school tomorrow, and that makes me really sad.
Anyway...glad you got through the hospital orientation on the first try! I wish I could help you with a ride to school, but I am in New Tampa and will be "booking it" to get my children to "before school care" and myself there on time!! Good luck, and see you on Wednesday!
Hello all!!! I have read through your posts and was so happy for you all when you got accepted. I wish I knew of this school so that I could've been in class with you guys.... hopefully all goes well when I apply myself. I have calculated my gpa to be a 3.714 and am so excited. I'm hoping that it'll be just as good for the Jan. 15 deadline.... Did you all drive to the school to drop off your paper work?
Thank you Wouldbegrad :). You gave me some much needed hope today. I'm such a ball of nerves this AM (I also have a job interview before I come to school to hopefully secure a more clinically related position...so many balls to juggle!!!!). At any rate, when people continue to stare at me as if I have a third eye and ask how I'm going to be successful with everything I've got going on I often end up second-guessing myself. And then, just when that happens yet another person currently in the program makes his/her way to our thread to let us know that it will all be okay
Shamani drop them off in person and include a self-addressed envelope so you have your own verification that the items were received. Good luck to you!!!!
Thanks Nick. I think I will have my car..... if not then the hubby will just have to take me....it will be ok. I know what you mean about the kids and time. It seemed to fly by once we got our assignments. Tbyrd good luck with the interview ...you can do it. One more thing, are we allowed to use a basic calculator for the clinical calculations test.......please tell me it is yes because it takes me way too long to do it from scratch.
