Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010

Published

hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

who else?! :)

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.

I had Mrs Crews too & she was a great help. Don't be afraid to ask her questions because she's more than willing to help.

anyone get their books today? I still have no answer from plant city's bookstore, and I got my reading assignments over the weekend :(

Yes squeen13, they are in the PC bookstore now! I just got mine today. Who all bought/is buying the supplemental books? I can't decide if I should get them now or just buy later if I need them..

Hello Guys, has anyone in the DM 1-4 class been contacted by the instructor? When is the first class? Where? I think I may be missing something.

Thank You,

Did your check your e-mail and the Shared Files for the class? It's there.

thank you so much ceedee! I will get them tomorrow! I think I am just going to get the supplemental books tomorrow as well.

hey everyone! got my books (finally) but they didn't have the well elderly books and they didn't couldn't find the patches. considering i had to fight five pm traffic and it took me one hour to get to the school i am far from amused about having to return to dm in the next two days but, it's all for the greater good right? eh...on the very bright side, according to the syllabus it looks like the PC night and weekenders will have TGH and UCH Carrollwood as options for Clinical Sites! I am ECSTATIC about not having to drive to Lakeland Regional or South Florida Baptist every Saturday morning at the crack of dawn :)!!!!!

ceedee i didn't get the supplemental books yet either. not really sure what to do about that since i literally only have time to purchase my books once more before school starts. eh...what do you think of emailing Mrs. Crews to see what she recommends? i'll be the guinea pig (i'm notorius for asking loads of questions so she may as well get used to it, lol).

Hey does any one know if the nursing student policy manual can be found online or if thats something we need to buy?? also does anyone know what equipment we need for our first day of clinical like a stethescope or a pen light and what side the little hcc patch goes on our uniforms lol, thanks

The patch is left arm, right? Somebody please confirm that before I walk into clinicals looking like a fool, lol.

I'm searching for the handbook online but it looks like the link may be broken. I'll keep searching and will let you know if I find it.

Hey guys, Tampa Occ Health is located at MEmorial Med Center Suite 402 (that's next to Memorial Hosp south of Kennedy near MacDill. Dr Jean Aertker, ARNP is very knowledgabel about the PE's we need and vaccines. Easy in and out, no hassle. Call this # 813-414-9400 to reach them.
