hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
Tebyrd, did you find the schedule on the HCC continuing education site?
I think I might do the one on 6/21. I won't be able to make the one on the 25th . We do need to get together at orientation. I hope we get an adequate lunch break. Maybe we can all sneak away for lunch!
There's also a search on the America Heart Association's site to find the nearest affiliate for CPR. I believe we need the BLS for healthcare providers CPR course.
tebyrd i'm excited to know that we're gunna be together! lol as well as the others on here for nights. but i'm already getting stressed out thinking about the first day of class. & taking two online courses this summer isn't helping! ahhh.
i turned in my confirmation letters this morning at the drop box!
and i am probably going to sign up at south florida baptist hospital for the CPR class on june 5th since i live in pc!
I just finished all my classes for the BSN this semester while I was waiting. If you are pretty good at math, online might not be a bad idea. I was pretty good at stats, but I had a teacher who really meshed with me. It's smart to stay distracted while you're waiting. I just keep counting down the days...
Does anyone know how many credit hours we take each semester? I have to have 12 for my scholarship and health insurance each semester.
Thankfully I already took stats but online would not have worked for me at all, lol. Way to remain productive though, that's amazing! We will have 12+ credit hours each semester since it's a full-time program but you can go to the HCC Health Sciences wesite and they have the curriculum and stuff posted. Definitley 12 though so no worries for your scholarship :)
