hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
MF got back with me. Retrospectively I realize that I am being way too nervous about everything and a rather silly bother on this board, just did not want to represent that MF was not on top of things. All smooth so far except for some out of control anxiety driven by having been burying myself in study to get to this point and the time off has left me out of balance. Sorry to have been such a downer. To my future classmates, I promise to have my eternal smile blasted back in place as soon as I can start working towards nursing again.
Studenthealthworker....its understandable to be anxious and nervous! Just remember, this might be one of the last times you get to relax and take a much needed breather before everything gets started. I am sure they will get all your paper work and you (we) will have a smooth start! Have a wonderful summer and see you at orientation! :)
Marksmommy, you might want to try emailing MF. I just got off of the WebAdvisor site looking up course times for Plant it appears they have both day and night for Nursing Processs I so I would ask her to clear it up for you.

I got my campus assignment...YES, Dale Mabry campus (with you Kman, I believe, right?)
Awesome! I dropped my acceptance letter into the box yesterday....wished I hadn't waited until the last minute, but have been VERY distracted. You know how I had a "fitness goal" in mind a while back to help with stress/ anxiety over this whole process, etc....well, I have been training for a fitness/figure competition, and it is right around the corner (June 12th!!) Anyway...you will be able to spot me just 3 days after it, at orientation....just look for the SERIOUSLY tanned, somewhat malnourished looking person!!! : )
SO vERY happy for you all, and can't wait to put faces (and real names) to all of you on the 15th and 16th of June!!!
Oh, and I haven't even had a chance to think about the CPR course...will tackle that ASAP!! (But Tebyrd, 5/25 @ Ybor is not possible for me, unfortunately!)

I am in the daytime program at Dale Mabry this fall, too. I'm starting to get a little nervous even though we have three months to go before we start. I'm hoping orientation will help to settle my nerves and not the opposite. Tebyrd, I am going to the BLS class at Ybor on the 25th - figured I'd get it out of the way.
Hey Persigirl! I'm actually doing Plant Night and Weekends but it looks like we'll be meeting up at the CPR class next week :). I'm shaking in my boots about the program all of a sudden. This is going to be life-altering
I am also in the Dale Mabry day program, but I've actually applied to USF's program also and wont hear back until mid-july. I'm crossing my fingers to get accepted there, and then hopefully it wont be too late for an alternate to take my place.
Hey Tebyrd just wanted to let you know that i signed up for the CPR class on the 25th...so see you then. Gods willing. Nice to hear form you Nick...i have been working on my weight too but it is not going too well. need to loose 15 lbs so i can handle all the standing in clinicals..ya know. I am relieved that i am not the only one nervous about this but i am sure that orientation will make me/us feel much better. This is so weird,... that we waited all this time to get some of the best news of ours lives and now we have all these mixed feelings. We will all be great students and nurses so lets enjoy our "freedom" while we can.
But I digress. Can't wait to meet everyone!!!!
