hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).
who else?! :)
edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.
I haven't gotten mine either but I wouldn't worry. If they cashed your check and MF didn't saying anything I am sure you are fine. They have simply been waiting on sending out letters to people who were alternates after people declined there spot. congrats on getting in and hopefully you will get your desired campus assignment!
does anyone know what the cut off gpa for fall was? i have heard numerous conflicting stories. i am applying for spring 2011 and have a 3.71 (i am very nervous about it not being good enough) also i am trying to get my app in and i cant get a straight answer on transcripts...do i have to include my sealed high school ones again if i have already given them to plant city hcc and what about my college ones, hcc is the only college i have ever attended (it seems pointless to pay for a copy just to hand it right back to them?) can anyone help me please? i would greatly appreciate it; im sooo stressed!
I am so anxious!!! I sent her another email as well. Thanks for keeping me updated.
Steph,
the cut off gpa was a 3.44. I have heard spring is a lot lower (although with the huge influx of applicants, I don't know if that will be true this time). Last spring a 3.19 was the lowest. I would say you are in great shape! You don't have to send in your high school transcripts or hcc ones, since they are already in the system. That mainly applies to first time applicants to hcc as well as the program. I recommend turning it in at dale mabry in the drop box and including a stamped, self addressed postcard so they can confirm they received it. I hope that helps. I am currently in the process of waiting on an appeal for a miscalculated gpa, and I must say the wait is the worst part of the process! Good luck!
Hey guys. I received my letter today, and my appeal went through! I am assigned to plant city campus, day. I am looking forward to meeting all of you at orientation!! This is such a relief.
The letter was postmarked on May 6th, so they didn't get out until yesterday. I hope you all get your campus choice letter today or tomorrow.
Hello Everyone,
Got my letter today. Assigned my campus and said that I needed to accept my seat and get my background check done, I already have done both. It says to do it before May 20th. Is there a way to make sure that things that are turned in are not lost? My background report results also came to me, I had put my seat acceptance form into the magic slot at the Dale Mabry campus the day after it was received. I would like to be able to hand to a person at a desk. Very excited to meet everyone at the orientation. This forum has made the last few days much less nerve racking, Thank You Guy's that addressed my concerns.
I got Plant City night and weekend as requested :)
Just so I understand, we're not supposed to register for the CPR class until after the orientation in June, right? Also am I missing something about when and where we're supposed to do the drug testing or do you guys think this will coordinated with our clinical sites?

hey studenthealthworker,
I sent in an appeal, and MF said the board was meeting last week and letters would be mailed after. I haven't received anything. I would think she would send out your campus assignment and the appeal letters all together on Monday. I'm hoping something comes tomorrow. It should have been here today if she sent them out Monday! I hate this waiting game.
