Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010

Published

hello! i just joined this lovely and informative site after lurking for a few weeks. i'm planning to apply for the program after this fall semester. (need to finish a&pII and college algebra).

who else?! :)

edit: can someone walk me through the application process? i know it's pretty easy, but i like knowing 100%! i'm not sure if an adviser would help me much. i know you need high school transcripts, an hcc application and a nursing application. then you just gather all the papers (including money?) in like a.... manila envelope and mail away? or can you electronically send your high school transcripts to them? thank you.

Oh no! Thanks for the warning Nick! So sorry you had to go through that :(. Can't wait to see you guys though!

Hey there,

Just wanted to update you all on the "Edge Information" situation. They DID refund my money fairly promptly, so it is all settled.

Hope you are all doing well. Has anyone started studying??? I have been completely distracted with a fitness goal that I established for myself. I DO try to look over the Clinical Calculations book when I am waiting in the car line at school...that's about it for now.

We had talked about getting together after we received our letters...is anyone still interested in doing that?

Take care guys!!

:)

Hey Nick! Glad they fixed the situation for you. I'm still interested in getting together. Let me know what works for you guys :)

Sadly I haven't started studying yet *sigh*.

Has anyone received their campus assignments yet? They said it would be a few weeks and I know they were on spring break last week but wasn't sure. Also I saw some people saying they are already studying, does it matter what edition of the books we get (ie if it says ed 5 we can get 4 and be okay?) Thanks!

Hey there! I haven't received my campus assignment yet. Not positivie about using former editions but you may want to ask the spring 2010 thread (or fall 2009) since they're already using the books.

you could study a previous ed. but you really need the ed. the prof asks for when you get to class- at least that was my experience.

Thanks! Did you find the bundle to be the best deal?

I didn't buy the bundle but wish I had. Now i'm doing it piece by piece and it's driving me nuts - not sure it's even going to save me money in the long run. However, one thing that I'm so glad i bough is "all-in-one care planning resource" so worth the money when you're writing care plans and nursing diagnosis papers all the time. Also buy the NCLEX review with questions book from Saunders. The Made Incredibly Easy series rocks if you have problems with Fluids and Electrolytes and other areas.

HTH! :-)

That was very helpful lactnet, thank you! Do you know how long we'll have to wait to be able to register? My company is paying for my books but I can't get them until I register for classes :(

Welcome- not sure how fall reg. is but we registered right after orientation. which campus do you want?

I saw some people talking about starting to study, mainly in the Dosage Calculations book and wanted to share a website you might find helpful. I don't have the book so don't know if it is the same but if anything you can look at it instead of buy the book for now. http://www.dosagehelp.com/

Thank you! Hopefully I can get them the week after orientation. I'm hoping for Plant City since I need to do the night and weekend program. Which campus are you attending?
