Hi, I'm JacknSweetpea....I've been reading posts on this site for nearly two years now. I learn a lot from all of you about all aspects of nursing. I work in a LTC that caters, yes, caters to the mentally ill, and even though I enjoy my work most of the time....it can be trying at times. I've been doing this for 3 yrs. and currently working on an RN degree through a local community college. I'm married, no kids as of yet, but I have cats and dogs:lol2: that keep me entertained on a daily basis. I just wanted to introduce myself and want to thank everyone for their informative as well as entertaining posts:nurse:.

Welcome to the group!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!! One of these days I will start a thread on catering to the mentally ill. Disclaimer: I'm not poking fun at mentally ill individuals. I am one myself....just not diagnosed (caught) yet:jester:. I just get really upset when nurse managers tell a mental patient that it is "okay" for them to put off their Prolixin injection for a week b/c the patient does not want to take it at that time, and the managers are afraid to displease them. I witnessed this happening 2X in the last 2 yrs..
