Nursing Students NCLEX

Which was harder Hesi and NCLEX?

Specializes in PCT, RN.

I don't think these two are comparable.

The HESI is an entrance exam taken usually to apply to nursing school and covers a broad range of information to test your knowledge level.

The NCLEX test is essentially your state boards that must be taken in order to get your nursing license after several years of nursing school.

Totally different.

Hesi also provides an exit exam that mimics the NCLEX.

Actually, HESI is a series of test that many nursing programs use. We had a test every semester and the our final semester we had a comprehensive edit HSEI. NCLEX is a national test, not just state.

To the OP, they are somewhat similar but not necessarily the same. They say that HESI is a good indicator of whether or not you will pass boards. I didn't hit bench mark on my exit HESI but passed boards my first attempt.

I hated HESI. I don't feel like it helped prepare me for boards like it claims but that's just a personal opinion.

I have not taken nclex but the person that gave us out exit hesi made it very clear that the two were not comparable. The exit hesi is simply a tool to tell you what to focus on in studying for the nclex.

They aren't comparable (as everyone else has said) BUT after every quarter we had to take them and I'd definitely say the Hesi was WAY harder. Personally, I felt the Hesi was meant to confuse and trick you. The NCLEX, in my opinion, was much easier to understand as far as what they are asking.
