Am i taking my nclex too late??
I know many people that weren't even able to schedule their exam yet and won't be testing until at least July. We graduated May 10th. You are FINE keep studying and keep it fresh!

Buying older editions of NCLEX review books?
I'm currently studying for my nclex in two weeks with my Saunders from 2010. I personally compared it to my friends 60 dollar 2015 one, exactly the same from what I could tell, and it was three dollars off amazon!

Why can't i get a job???? US RN
3 weeks and 20 applications? Calm down!! Three weeks isn't even long enough to be sure they read your resume yet? I applied to 20 a day for three months and landed a job before graduation. Best of luck to you, just keep applying. Check every single day and be one of the first to apply. I have a friend in an HR hospital and he said at his hospital the computer only sends the first 20 applicants to be looked through because they get thousands!

HESI???NCLEX???
I have not taken nclex but the person that gave us out exit hesi made it very clear that the two were not comparable. The exit hesi is simply a tool to tell you what to focus on in studying for the nclex.

nursing school THAT hard?
The difficulty of nursing school is not in the content, but in the time constraints.

Thoughts on nurses who graduate nursing school calling themselves nurses before the NCLEX
Well I am very fortunate to not live there. I have my badge for work that says my name,GN and the words NURSE big under it. I'll be completely my 12 week orientation, working as a nurse under a preceptor. I have 45 days to take my nclex and then my badge changes to my name,RN. Does your state not do graduate nurse positions? I feel very fortunate that Michigan does. I need the nurse wages stat!

How many job interviews before you get your first nursing job?
I applied to around 50 jobs for a month, was offered my first interview! Graduate in 3 days ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ BEST OF LUCK

Travel Nursing Questions
I have personally researched travel nursing and every single company I have looked in to has required at least 18 months experience in an acute care setting. I have narrowed it down to a few companies and the ones I've looked at you get to pick where you go! I cannot wait to finish up my 18 months experience and then hit the road 😊

Low cumulative GPA but 4.0 in prereqs--can I get into an ABSN program?
Every single nursing program has different requirements to get into them. Some take a cumulative GPA, some take just the GPA of certain classes, some take their own students over transfers, some require an entrance exam, an interview, the possibilities are really endless. Best of luck

Per Diem as a new grad??
Per diem doesn't mean all over the hospital. I'm per diem on a specific floor, OP could you specify? Per diem on a specific floor absolutely, you make your own schedule and can work as little or as much as you want. Staff treats you like gold because you are such a help to them! Flex for the entire hospital though, I would have to say I wouldn't accept that job as a new grad.

3.4 gpa-doomed?
Since when would they not transfer? I've never heard of a university not accepting community college credits... I've heard of baker college not being accepted anywhere, but all 110 of my credits from CC transferred to all 7 universities that I was looking into.

New Nurse
The same thing happened to me today! I graduate in five days and was offered a position today in ICU at the hospital I currently work at. The problem is two months ago I accepted a position in step down at a different hospital!!! I was having a panic attack trying to decide what to do! I weighed my options and finally realized that I decided to leave the hospital I work at for a reason and j am excited to start somewhere new! Make yourself a pro/con list!

How did your employer recognize Nurse's Day?
I probably gained 10 lbs from the free breakfast lunch and dinner along with sweets we received all week!

Thoughts on nurses who graduate nursing school calling themselves nurses before the NCLEX
Not necessarily. I'm excited to call myself a nurse in 5 days because I'll be starting out as a graduate nurse at a hospital. Of course I would never call myself an RN until I pass my nclex, but I will indeed be a nurse.

New grad.
Absolutely! You could have started months ago. Most people in my cohort had jobs about two months prior to graduation.
