Comfortable living?
I believe you said you live in Mississippi, If i've skimmed over the part where you said you're leaving - don't hold me to this comment lol. I would tell you that you should leave Mississippi if you're going to be a nurse. I worked with a woman who traveled from Mississippi to come to work in Texas for 3 days then go back home & repeat! She is a seasoned nurse and said there are NO jobs for nurses in Mississippi. Even if you do your research you will see Mississippi is the last if not close to last place a nurse should look for a job. In regards to the money, YES YOU CAN. I work in Arlington as a new nurse and I make $25/hr base pay, 28.45/hr at night, $31/hr on the weekend. With my work schedule of 72 hours a pay period & after taxes, I make about $4000. It's doable. Best of luck with your decisions! And always always do your research when choosing a nursing program and don't limit yourself to hospitals for experience! :) *Also your choice in car in neither here nor there. My sister pays close to $500 a month by choice as well and she too is a nurse. Whatever choice you make or path you choose, let it be what makes you happy. We are not here to judge your choices

I didn't study until 2 weeks before & I focused on what I didn't know. PDA by Lacharity is a great book for studying. I would study for 2 hours using the PDA book looking at the rationales and looking up any diseases I didn't know thoroughly or medications. Then after that two hours throughout the day I'd do maybe 100 questions from the nclex mastery app. Watch RemarReview videos. The best advice I can tell you is stay away from the negative blogs or videos! It just intimidates you. The NCLEX isn't that difficult once you figure out how to dissect the question. Good luck to you!

Simple Nursing.com
PDA by Lacharity is a must! I used that & just the RemarReview videos. 90% PDA & it has all of the areas of study as well as case studies. Good luck!

NCLEX Plan
PDA by Lacharity and RemarReview on YouTube. PDA is very good! The rationales help too! It gives a detailed explanation. RemarReview makes it easy to understand and gives you tips on ways to remember the information. There were concepts I couldn't understand no matter how much I studied but RemarReview ties it all and makes connections with other disorders. Good luck!

I passed!75 questions. After falling my first attempt at 75!

HESI???NCLEX???
They aren't comparable (as everyone else has said) BUT after every quarter we had to take them and I'd definitely say the Hesi was WAY harder. Personally, I felt the Hesi was meant to confuse and trick you. The NCLEX, in my opinion, was much easier to understand as far as what they are asking.

Hello all! So, I used this website for all of the tips on studying for NCLEX & by far the best advice I've read is TRUST YOUR KNOWLEDGE. I was a student that got mostly A's & B's. (I got a few Cs too but C=RN too.) I've always had test anxiety but I focused on my motivator (my significant other & my nephew) & took my time! 5 hours & things I've never heard of later, I emerge. 4 of my classmates took it on the same day. 2 had 75 questions, 1 had 210, the other 231. Needless to say, we did the Pearson trick. 3 out of 4 got the "good pop up" & the other "insufficient funds". We're gonna wait until Wednesday & hopefull I can proudly put RN behind my name.
