HESI EXIT EXAM #4

Nursing Students General Students

Published

I am not sure what to do anymore. I have just taken the hesi exit exam for the 4th time and got an 845 and needed an 850 in order to get my transcripts. We can take it as many times as needed by the end of fall, but my brain is so tired, and not sure I can take much more. We have remediation that we have to do and it is 3000 nclex questions before we retake. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get through this. is there anyone out there that has had to take this as many times as I have? Help someone.

Hi mar28mel I got your message but don't have enough post to reply so I'm contacting you here I don't know if I can post my email on here if you PM your email I'll send one back. And one of my friends is taking 4 so i'll talk to her and get her print out. Thanks Jennie:up:

Kadeinn,

I have been using Saunders, NCLEX 3500, and the hesi book. I also bought the Kaplan test taking book. I haven't really got into the Kaplan book yet, but I have heard good things about it.

Kadeinn:

From all the versions that I took...I felt that version four was the best one they gave me. I know I did not pass that one, but I scored high on it. I ended up passing version five. However, four was a good test. Hope that will calm you a bit. I do not have any information on this one anymore though, since all our stuff is no longer available.

You have got to find a way to relax and calm your mind. I truly believe that is the only way how to get through that test to be confident and not second guessing your answers. Do not change your answers once you made that decision. I ended up passing five, because I refused to change my answers. In four I got better in not changing my answers compared to three.

Just to give you an example. In test three I made my lowest score 785 and then I noticed that I changed my answer 18 times from the right into the wrong. Test four I scored 867 and I noticed that I changed my answer 6 times. Test five I scored 952 and I did not change my answers at all.

Good luck to you! When is the day that you take it again?

test is next week and baby the next month (lol) i know version 3 was very hard i've studied the whole saunders comprehensive book and i ve did questions. I know i need to just relax but i'm so sick of this. I ve heard that some questions that were in the last hesi's some were in this 4th one.

Kadeinn: dont go by this. The versions are not always the same though they say version four or whatever. I seen other peoples versions of four prior to taking it and I had the same, but it was entirely different questions not one was on there that I read from the other peoples four. If you happen to get my version you will do fine.

I really think that Hesi thing is a mind game. You know this stuff. You likely read out loud to your baby about hesi and that poor thing will be more traumatized then you lol. Do your questions and be confident. What score you have to make? You likely told me that already a 100 times. I think you will be fine. Just dont go into labor during the test..tell you baby to hold on until you finish lol

i have to make a 850 to pass

Kadeinn:

You can do this. You have one week left. I would go into that ole hesibook and read through some stuff that you are consistently weak in. You done questions and you done Saunders so now use that Hesibook before you test again for Hesi. Be calm, be confident and dont have that baby right then. 850 is in your reach. Do NOT CHANGE you answer once you selected it, unless you see that you totally misread the question, for example if you thought they asked you what is the right thing to do ...and they actually asked you...what is not the right thing to do. I think we all read to much into the questions when we go back and re read the questions.

Thank you thank you thank you pray for me please and i ll let you know how i did last week and this little boy better stay in here until after the test

Your welcome. I truly understand what you go through, but I hope you take to heart that when you see things from the other side then you look back and you think gosh I was just too anxious. You know what might be a good advice too...if you have the same routine every time you go to for your hesi, change it. For example, if you eat breakfast with a friend prior to the exit at Ihop, go this time to a different place. Do things differently and this way your mind may not go into that trott that you gone that same route for the fourth time. Not sure if that makes sense to you, but just changing things the way you do can be the answer. This thing is a mind thing KADEINN. Good luck to you and I just know that you will say next week: I passed and then you will burn that hesi book and frame that hesi exam ( I actually did that) lol.

GOODLUCK TOALL HESI TAKER:D:yeah::typing

:confused:Hesi is a total joke. I NEVER passed the darn thing. We were required to take a remediation coorifice if you failed the 4th. I got as close to a 830 something at one time "needed an 850." We then had to stay for another 2 week remediation class after being pinned, sworn in and graduated by the President of the college. After the 2 weeks we got an email that said they had simply been preparing us for NCLEX. Good luck. Ok, I register, do Rinehart "all 3 passes," and some NCLEX 3500 until NCLEX RN test date. Passed the exam in 75 questions in about 45 min.

HESI DOES NOT HAVE CRAP TO DO WITH NCLEX. ITS A HORRIBLE COMPETENCY GUIDE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH SOMETHING "ANYTHING" ELSE.

I had often heard that HESI was irrelevant to NCLEX many times and experienced it myself.

ALSO,! Of 4 classmates that failed NCLEX, 2 passed HESI, one with an 850something the other with a 960..... You passed school, you deserve your transcripts. If you fail NCLEX the college failed to educate you properly or didn't set academic standards high enough!
