HESI Exit Exam Question

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I'm required to take the HESI exit exam for my LVN program. A few questions for those that have taken the HESI.

1. What study materials did you use to study?

2. How many times did you take it?

3. What was your score?

4. How many hours/questions did you do per day?

Thank you. :)

I would recommend to you to use the hesi review book it comes with a cd that is practice test that are set up just like the hesi exit exam.

dont let it stress you out or you will not do well just relax and take the test.

good luck

i'm required to take the hesi exit exam for my lvn program. a few questions for those that have taken the hesi.

1. what study materials did you use to study? i did suzanne's plan using saunder's (1st tip: do chapter quiz and if you score less than 75%, then read the whole chapter). also used the hesi disc, exam cram q&a, and nursing made incredibly easy q&a.

2. how many times did you take it? 1x

3. what was your score? 936

4. how many hours/questions did you do per day? i'd do 2-3 chapters of saunder's a day and maybe 30-45 minutes from the other books.

thank you. :)

hope this helps.

Honestly, we were not given ANY DIRECTION when taking the HESI exam. Furthermore, this was given to us during FINALS week when we were focused on FINALS, NOT HESI. I wouldn't worry about the percentage because some people that did not have a good HESI score still passed NCLEX-RN. If there are special requirements with your nursing program follow their instructions. Good Luck!

Thank you for your responses. Our school requires us to score 900 or else we don't graduate. :crying2: Our school hasn't provided appropriate study materials, so I'm determined to get above the required score on my own with my own study materials, so all I have to worry about is the NCLEX.

Thanks and please do keep suggestions coming!

Use the review book that you are going to use for the NCLEX and don't get too stressed or you won't do well. Don't get too hung up on your score as long as you satisfy the school's requirement for graduating. Many people don't do well on predictor tests yet still pass the NCLEX. Good luck.

I just recently took the HESI and scored an 858. The only thing I did to study was to go over about 200 questions (from NCLEX 3500 program) per day for 3 days before the exam.

I appreciate all the tips thus far and the PMs. I'm not allowed to PM anyone yet, but in response to some of your questions, I take the HESI in July or August. I've purchased the HESI book, Saunders & Kaplan Qbank. I've only been able to do about 50-75 questions a day due to school work and stuff. :o But I plan to increase the load and do about 150-200 beginning in June (hopefully).

Silly question, but do you think I can study the NCLEX-RN 3500 when I'm taking the NCLEX-PN or should I just stick to PN study materials? :imbar

Thanks again!

RN and PN have different roles so better to stick to PN resources

The NCLEX-RN 3500 are questions, I wouldn't think it would hurt. The more questions, the better and review them.

My school requires 850 to pass. I got 1059. I didn't study at all. Just use your critical thinking skills.:)
