Nursing Students NP Students

Hi Everyone!

I finally found the school I really want to go to! I have applied to 3 other schools and backed out for this or that reason. There was just a bad feeling. This program has made me feel super comfortable from the beginning and they seem to be so organized which makes my nerves much more calm. I am super excited to start in November in the PMHNP program. Would LOVE to connect with other students in the same situation. Online classes are awesome, but would really like to connect with other students. in the same situation.

I currently work inpatient psych 12 hr shifts and starting to network for preceptors now. I hear we start semester 3 with clinical so trying to stay on top of my game.

Can't wait to hear from you all! I live in st Louis, MO btw. Where are you all?

Hi, I am in Florida, but doing the Post Masters PMHNP program. I also start in November. My first 2 classes are Adv Patho and Adv Pharm. I start my first clinical in January. I think you made a great choice. I have a family member who completed her FNP with Herzing and she was happy with her choice.

@Ebonybrn1 hopefully we are going to be on the same section, I will be taking the same class. Do you know like how the discussion post works? Also taking PMC-pmhnp program.

I will be excited to hear about your first semester since I decided to wait until after the holidays! I feel like Herzing is going to be a great choice!  Time will go fast; my MSN did! Best advice I could give everyone would be to start networking now to facilitate set-up of your preceptors and clinical sites! ?

I will also be starting the PMHNP program in January 2021. I completed all of my nursing with Herzing starting with my LPN at the campus in Birmingham, AL and moving all the way up to my BSN online. I am excited yet nervous to start my MSN path

Hi Nurse Jazz,

That's exciting! Can you share your experiences with Herzing University so far? Where do you live? Let me know if you need anything.

Update. I was going to start Nov 2, I changed my mind and now will start my Post Master's PMHNP program in January 2021. I am excited and I think starting after the holidays will work better for me, plus I will have a reduction in working hours. ?

That sounds great! I am not sure if you read my post but, that is why I chose to wait until January so that I wasn't consumed with school during the holidays. And, I also reduced my work hours to 32 hours a week. I currently work in an addiction treatment center 5am-1pm. The nice part about it is all of the resources I will need are available. I am praying that preceptors won't be a challenge. I already have two lined up and maybe a third. I just read that we can only use the same preceptor twice during the program. Okay, well I wish you all the best! I am here to help if you ever need anything. ?

May I ask what classes you are taking? I am very excited and your post really amped that up! It's great to hear from other students especially when it is going so well. I have my MSN in Nursing Executive Leadership and Management so my first two classes are advance pharmacology and pathophysiology. Thanks for replying it greatly helped!?

Awesome! I am getting my PMHNP as well. So it is manageable? Do you find yourself giving about 10 to 15 hours a week? How are the discussion posts? Thanks again.
