Hi Everyone!

I finally found the school I really want to go to! I have applied to 3 other schools and backed out for this or that reason. There was just a bad feeling. This program has made me feel super comfortable from the beginning and they seem to be so organized which makes my nerves much more calm. I am super excited to start in November in the PMHNP program. Would LOVE to connect with other students in the same situation. Online classes are awesome, but would really like to connect with other students. in the same situation.

I currently work inpatient psych 12 hr shifts and starting to network for preceptors now. I hear we start semester 3 with clinical so trying to stay on top of my game.

Can't wait to hear from you all! I live in st Louis, MO btw. Where are you all?

Hi, I am in Florida, but doing the Post Masters PMHNP program. I also start in November. My first 2 classes are Adv Patho and Adv Pharm. I start my first clinical in January. I think you made a great choice. I have a family member who completed her FNP with Herzing and she was happy with her choice.

That is great yo hear! I will be taking those classes next semester. I don't start clinicals until my 3rd semester. I love how organized them seem thus far. Super excited! Too bad were taking the same classes. I am sure we will meet our classmates soon enough! Good luck!

Good Luck to you ?

I'm from NC. Just graduated last year from Herzing's FNP program. The professors were awesome. Classes were informative. Good luck to you all! It's worth it!

Thank you and congrats to you ?

Hi everyone,

I just submitted all my requirements to Herzing University to start their PMHNP program 1/11/21. I can start on 11/2 but I’m  nervous to start going right before the holidays but, I may! I’m super excited about this next chapter in my life. I currently work at a residential substance abuse facility in the north Georgia mountains, that manage dual diagnose such as anxiety, depression and schizophrenia along with the addiction. I work 5am to 1pm four days a week and love it!
I’m looking forward to building relationships through this journey!

That is awesome! So Happy for you! I am very impressed with my progress with Herzing thus far. I start on November 2nd, but everything until now has been great! I even got a 10% tuition discount for being a veteran. Very affordable program compared to others. I had signed up for 2 different schools and backed out at the last minute because it just did not feel right. I am ready this time and Herzing is definately my school of choice! Can't wait to get started and meet all of you!

Any tips on finding a preceptor for Herzing?  I am also in NC and starting to look for a preceptor for health assessment and clinical decision making. I start the program on November 2nd.

Do you know what the preceptor requirements are for health assessment specifically?

Health assessment 45 hours has to be primary care focus

Rehabilitation facilities, family-based practice facilities, retail
health clinics, medical centers, community-based clinics, urgent care, federally funded clinics, VA Hospitals with primary care clinics, extended care facilities, and mobile health centers.

Clinical decision making 90 hours has to be primary/mental health focus

Rehabilitation facilities, family-based practice facilities, retail
health clinics that conduct mental health care, medical centers that have a primary/mental health care focus, community-based clinics, urgent care, mental health care, federally funded clinics, VA Hospitals that have primary/mental health care clinics, extended care facilities, and mobile health centers.

WOW, Thanks! Where did you get that? I plan on reaching out to my previous nursing classmates that are NPs already. Especially for health assessment because none of them are psych providers.
