Hello everyone, I will be starting the new PMHNP program at Herzing University in September. Trying to see if there is anyone else that will be starting the program so that we can connect. Since it's a new program, there is no topic about this specialty and maybe this can provide opportunity for potential students to discuss.
This thread is really encouraging! I had not heard of Herzing, or perhaps wrote them off as a diploma mill accidentally. But folks seem to thinks it's a solid program, yes? Looks like non-profit. I will be very curious how the PMHNP program goes, so please update!
To get a balanced idea, what would be the most common complaints? I know that doing an online program makes clinical placements and preceptors challenging. That is true anywhere. But other concerns about this school?
I believe this September will be the inaugural class— I always like new programs . I like being there before they get the kinks out.
Herzing couldn’t give me a straight answer as to whether they were enrolling CA students now and the CA BON couldn’t ensure me I wouldn’t have any issues with licensing so I was out of luck :(
Liberty also doesn’t enroll students from CA and I know it’s because CA doesn’t publish a checklist of requirements for distance programs and schools have decided not to bother trying to work with the CA BON ridiculous ambiguity.
I actually decided to just keep my enrollment at Univ of South Alabama- started 8/17 ?? I wish you total success, future colleagues ?
I am between Herzing and Frontier. Another school I have also considered is MCPS. All of these programs are roughly 2 years in length and have similar clinical requirements. The biggest difference is price for me. I would like others input on their comparisons of these programs. Hoping to apply asap and start in the Spring.
Good luck to all.

Like I said, I’ve heard great things about the FNP track and I hope this will be the same. My communication with them has been smooth, they provide clear instructions, and the online platform is easy to navigate. They have already uploaded clinical forms and vital informations. So far, I see they are very organized.
Hi, I will be starting on 11/2 for PMC-PMHNP, how was the class so far? Can you share like how many discussion post per week and how many assignment per week?
Hi All,
I am hoping to start the CAGS PMHNP Program at Herzing University on November 2, 2020. I have researched so many programs and this one seems like the best fit since the 3 P's are one at a time and just 8 weeks long. It allows the focus on one class at a time. It seems like such a good program but worry about it being so new. For those students who started in the first cohort in Sept, what do you think? Is the support and guidance good along with the classes?
Thanks for responding.

Hello all,
I am also starting the program in September along with my sister. We are both very excited, but a tad nervous. Great to read the comments and look forward to our group discussions.
