I'm planning to move to Santa Clarita Valley. Does anybody know anything about Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital. Is it a good place to work? Are they paying good? And for the nurses living in that area, where do you work? Thank you!

Henry Mayo in Newhall starts RNs at about $27 without experience, and obviously more money with experience.

Santa Clarita is a very nice area. I do not know about the cost of living, i think that is high all over california. I used to visit patient at henry mayo and my interactions with the nurses there were mostly pleasant.

Has anyone had an interview with Henry Mayo for the New Graduate program? Or, would anyone know about what kind of questions they ask?

@tkhayman a nice one bedroom apartment in Santa Clarita is around $1000 or more per month.

@dumitra. If Henry Mayo isn't hiring etc. then I would try Providence Holy Cross Medical Center or other hospitals in Northridge and other surrounding areas around SCV while living in Santa Clarita.

Stay away from Providence Holy Cross MC!! My friend got caught up in their hiring offer and still looking for a job after being offered. It was really heart breaking!!

How silly. Some stranger you know nothing about and her alleged bad experience is going to cause you to write off that hospital? :uhoh3: Do you even know what this alleged bad experience entailed?

Well how do you know I haven't asked around? My aunt and a lot of co-workers have experience with that hospital and say it's one of the worst places to get a job at.

Don't assume that I haven't done my research.

Kooky- do your homework. I heard the same thing. A bunch of people got job offers for a new grad program only to be told a month before starting that the programs was cancelled. The story is the hospital is in very bad financial shape after investing heavily on an expansion than never panned out.
