I've got no housework for a week riding on this baby!

Obviously, you are right. But whenever someone in my family hangs it with the free end dangling down the back, I remove it. Then I "replace" it facing the front. Funny...no one ever comes behind me and changes it back.
By the way, I have my strong toilet paper opinion for two reasons. One, Ann Landers once said it should hang from the front. (No, I don't trust her for everything). Also, I once worked cleaning hotel rooms for a very particular elderly Danish woman whom I greatly respected. She wanted everything done "just so" and she taught me well.

isn't on here I see :)
Yup. This is where it stays in my house. Unless I am one who replaces it. Front, back, who cares as long as somebody replaces it.
It does belong in the front though. That is the way it always is in restrooms everywhere.
Ha, my family places it on the back of the toilet too . . or the sink or the floor beside the toilet or on the edge of the bathtub.
I do not care one way or the other as long as it gets on the dang spool!
I never even gave this a thought until the Ann Landers columns.
Not worth a fight over however. As long as the paper is somewhere in the bathroom and not in the pantry just when you need it.

AHA! Thank you stargazer for thet SCIENTIFIC CONSUMER PROOF! BWAAHA HAHAHA HAAA!!!!! I'm going to print that out and hang it in the bathroom!
Of course, we haven't hung our new toilet paper hardware yet, so our rolls of TP kinda float all over the bathroom.
But I'm assuming the way stargazer has so wonderfully described is "facing the front" so that's how I voted.
