Im so worried! I took my hesi today and my over all grade is 88! I study for anatomy for almost a month and i only got 76. I passed it by a point. this is annoying! but my math and reading was high which pulled me up to a 88. i think 88 in not enough to guarante my acceptance also my gpa! my prereq gpa is 3.8 and my cumulative gpa 3.6. Im applying for the generic program. Im really nervous!Anyone from the program already knows if my grades are enough in order to get into the program? It is killing me! anyone else applied??
@Glowinthdark,I am also an accelerated applicant and still haven't received my orientation packet. I called the nursing department yesterday and I was told the lady who is sending the emails isn't available at the office until next week. I wasn't convinced but what could I do? I intend to stop by the office in person next week God willing to check things out myself. Will send an update should I receive it, you may do likewise if you can. Anyway all the Best of Luck to us still waiting for our orientation packet lol...
If you pm me your email, I can forward you a copy of the package. It's the same for everyone.
@starvingRtist. Thanks so much for the kind gesture. My email is [email protected]. I appreciate it....
Hey guys thanks for all the info, you've all been so helpful =]. I am still waiting for my orientation packet unfortunately. Can anyone be kind enough to email me the packet? i can't PM as I'm still a new member and need 15 posts. My email is [email protected] Thanks in advance and can't wait to meet you guys!
Hi all,
For those accepted to the accelerated program what are your stats? I want to apply to Lehman next year (currently taking pre req now). I would also consider the generic program but I have a BS degree and would like to get a second BS in nursing faster if possible. I am a little nervous because GPA seems really high, especially for accelerated students. Previous degree gpa is 3.2 and pre req so far is almost 3.7 I think. I will take micro in the Fall. I also need organic chem, which I plan to take at Lehman if accepted to the school. Thanks
Hey, I was accepted into generic but giving that for this year, the competition was tough ( I would say about 60% of the applicants for this year generic had 4.0's science gpa) it would be safe to strive for a 4.0 gpa; The minimum being 3.8 because accelerated at Lehman takes only 20 applicants so the competition there is much tougher. For HESI strive for 90 in all sections. Good luck :)
@thecareerchanger, I was accepted to the accelerated program with a 4.0 in the prerequisite courses and a 92.67 on the HESI (100 Math, 94 Reading, 84 A and P, 880 Critical Thinking). My undergrad GPA was a 3.0.. something like a 3.2 if they included the prereqs for nursing and electives I took after I completed my degree. I was told over and over again by advisors in the nursing dept. that the MOST important factor in the department's decision is the prereq GPA. Try to do as well as you can in the remaining prereq courses.. I took Organic Chem at Lehman this past semester and didn't find it to be that bad, but I had a professor who is known to be relatively easy (ratemyprofessors really came in handy this time). Some of the students in my lab had a different professor for lecture and their tests sounded a lot harder (tests with short answers instead of multiple choice, for example). Hope this helps! Good luck!

Same here, I had a 2.6 GPA from my first degree. But I have a 4.0 from the pre-req GPA so I was accepted to both accelerated and generic.
However every year is different. Before the undergraduate director retired, she told me one year the GPA cut off was 3.8 and another year was 3.9. So it really depends on the candidate pool. In general 3.9 to 4.0 is needed for accelerated, 3.8 is usually close to the cut off. Above 3.6 is needed for generic, but 3.6 may not be enough if competition is high for that year.

Is there anyone who has taken HIN 269? I want to know the name of the book used and if I can please get your email, so that I can ask about the professor you took it with. Ratemyprofessor barely has any info on any of the professors teaching HIN 269
