HELP!! Lehman college Nursing program 2015

Im so worried! I took my hesi today and my over all grade is 88! I study for anatomy for almost a month and i only got 76. I passed it by a point. this is annoying! but my math and reading was high which pulled me up to a 88. i think 88 in not enough to guarante my acceptance also my gpa! my prereq gpa is 3.8 and my cumulative gpa 3.6. Im applying for the generic program. Im really nervous!Anyone from the program already knows if my grades are enough in order to get into the program? It is killing me! anyone else applied??

Health clearance, cpr and liability ins are due by Aug 12 so I guess it would not be a problem.

Hi all, I got my orientation package so I'll respond to some questions:

@ sels: There are 3 Lehman College nursing related Facebook groups as far as I know, however two of them have been inactive for years. The new and active one is under "Lehman College Nursing". Just search in Facebook, we're at 3 members this very moment.

@ Musicmurse7: Thanks for the update on the orientation dates. Hopefully someone will email us all to clarify the correct dates.

@ ABC15: There is an unexpected shortage of staff in the nursing department right now, just be patient I'm sure you'll get your package soon.

@ issyl11 & Styliah26: According to the orientation package, we are going to receive emails from other staff to start the class registrations. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be done way before the orientation, unless they are too short on staff...

@ Kiti92: There are 7 major items we need to complete...

1. Orientation: dates uncertain right now, either Aug 11-12 or Aug 12-13.

2. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification: Submit proof by Aug 12.

3. : Submit proof by Aug 12.

4. Physical: Submit by Aug 12 BUT the forms are outdated, wait for follow up emails on the latest form.

5. Nursing Uniform: By first day of class; Aug 27

6. Medical supplies: Aug 27

7. Uniform Name Pin: Vendor is being finalized, wait for further instructions.

I'm going to read through the whole thing tonight and update more info if necessary. So far I finished applying for the insurance, it's about $38 after the fees, for a whole year coverage. Application takes 5 minutes.

On the information handout, they required a Consent to Release Documents form under the additional documents requirements, anybody know where to get or download the form?

Will let you know as soon as I find out. If I don't figure it out by tonight, I will ask the department tomorrow, I have to stop by anyway.

Hi all,

Lehman requires us to buy a specific scrub (top only, we can buy pants and shoes from anywhere else) from a certain vendor. You must create an account first, so the vendor knows exactly which scrub you need.

One thing I really don't like is, whether you order now or a month from now, they'll ship out the scrubs at the same time. Which is 2 weeks prior to classes. That leaves us no time to make exchange if the sizes don't fit... I hate shopping for clothing online!

Thanks for the detailed info StarvingRtist. The email was kinda jumbled and overwhelming. Btw, I received my orientation packet. If anyone hasn't gotten it, just send me a private message with your email and I'll forward it to you; I'm sure it's a standard email.

Also, will you guys be purchasing 2 scrub tops or 1? I'm a "more than one" just in case person, but I'm thinking $47 vs $94? Plus with all the other expenses, I think I'll survive with the 1 top for now :confused: What do you guys think?

im a "more than one" person too but I spoke with a friend who is currently in the program at Lehman and she said one would suffice. We would wear the uniform 2 days in a week for clinicals and can wash it/let it dry to get it ready for the following week so one will do for now. $94 is a bit much considering we have other materials to purchase

We absolutely need more than one scrub. From what I heard, during clinical we can easily get our scrubs dirty. The only thing holding me back is the price... usually scrubs are only $10 to $30 at most, but this one we're required to buy is soooooooo expensive!

Btw I don't believe in size charts....

sels, can you tell me exactly what does Facebook tell you when you tried to join? So far two people were able to join and some others weren't able to just like you. This is more complicated than it should be...

Update: Can you also send me your email address? I think I can send invites through the email address you used for Facebook.

UPDATE 2: I think you have to join a parent group first, called "CUNY SPS" before you can join the nursing group. So search for CUNY SPS, join that, then try to join the "Lehman College Nursing" again. I think I created the group under the CUNY umbrella so only CUNY students can join the group. Sorry I'm a newbie at this.
