Hey guys, I am new to this site. I've been reading all sorts of things on here about NCLEX. I just took NCLEX on Friday July 2nd, and tried the PVT and it took me to the credit card page. I was so bummed I had 199 questions, which I think means I was borderline. I think my nerves got the best of me because I could not focus at all. I did the quickresults on Sunday and found out that I "failed". It's such a bummer because all of my friends around me are passing, and here I am being one of the first out of our 200+ graduating class not passing. I don't know how to study again! PLEASE HELP! I did over 5000+ questions, did Kaplan, Saunders and learningext.com. Any suggestions???
wow...there are people out there who are just like me. I too have failed numerous times and I am now gaining courage to start studying again. Its so hard cause I work at nights but I am determined to pass. I am currently using hurst review and lacharity. Any other suggestions as I so badly want to pass.
Hello everyone. I too failed yesterday on my 2nd attempt. I did Kaplan, read over content, borrowed my friend's workbook from Hurst Review. I did worse the second time around. First time I finished at 265 questions and yesterday my exam ended at 86qs with 9 SATA. I did a whole lot worse. *****! Of course just like anyone else who has not passed I was extremely upset when I found out. If anyone has any suggestions on how to tackle this?

that is a lot of things that you did. perhaps you should just focus on one review course only.
Kaplan was my main study thing I did... and when I was bored or wanted a break, I took out my helen feuer and just listened to her lecture.... but I did not do her questions at all..... my questions were just kaplan only, and I did every single question untill I had everything right and 0 wrong.
If I were you, I would take another review course, a live lecture, and start studying from there. do everything that they tell you in the review course, the questions, read the book etc. etc.
and that way it will keep you focused and you will pass!

I would suggest taking a live lecture course, and just do whatever they say to do.
sometimes we don't focus the right way, and perhaps a different class will be better for you.
I fail my NCLEX yesterday with 75Q, and it is not the first time i am taking . I took this exam with my international nursing status - i fail 3 times, then i went to nursing school (BSN) here in USA/ NY, and here you go- i fail my NCLEX just yesterday - i tried trick and it let me register, so i already registered, now i will just wait my result. I am so clueless how to start study now. I took Kaplan, and i did well on it. I read all Kaplan book. I did all Q's on Linda A. LaCharity. I also did almost 2000 Q's on NCLEX 4000 CD. How can i study now. I have to pass next time. Please help.
I know it is very difficult, but perhaps a different study course will work better for you.
sometimes when we have a lot of things to study, we tend not to focus well, and the brain just goes overload, and we end up not doing well on our exams.
I would suggest going to a study course such as Helen Feuer, or Hurst.... but not online, do a live course, and do whatever they say to do, and don't look at anything else but that course, and you will see that you will pass
When i took Kaplan, all I did was focus on what they told us to do. I almost passed the first time around. If I had to do it over again the second time around, I should have switched to another review course and stuck to their game plan. I didn't think Kaplan was helpful (although they did provide a nice set of questions) and I heard promising things about Hurst Review.
I'll take that course next week and stick to their plan until I take it again next month.
Thanks for the advice!
When you start to study for the test re-take, review the questions that you get wrong, review the right answer, read the rationales, and strategies for why the right answer is the right answer, this will help you a great deal when doing the test, breaking down the information given, and hopefully coming to the correct conclusion.

I posted somewhere on here how I studied and used others to help me monitor my progress as well as keeping myself very well disciplined. I hope you could make use of some of my strategies.
How were you doing with the Kaplan questions? Do you feel like you had a handle on them, and your nerves just got the best of you, or do you feel like you need to learn content better? It will make a difference how you attack it this time around...
Kaplan helped me with the priotization questions on the nclex exam. After I read about other people who completed everything from the kaplan course and still fail, I started doing questions from other vendors too.
