I am being petitioned by a hospital in downtown Los Angeles.I already have a work permit and Im just waiting for my schedule to work there. I don't want to move to LA since my family is here in the bay area. Is it possible that I can find another hospital to continue the sponsorship/petition for me? How can I change petitioners?

Consult a lawyer. Remember that your EAD is anchored on your AOS.
what's an EAD and an AOS?thanks.

EAD(EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION DOCUMENT)
AOS( ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS)
IF I WERE YOU GO ON WITH THIS PETITION, IT'S NOT EASY TO GET ONE AGAIN FROM ANOTHER PETITIONER.IT TAKES TIME.

EAD is the card that would allow one to work in the US, get an SSN, and get a Driver’s License---to name only a few. It expires every year and a fee has to be paid each time it is renewed.
AOS is the Adjustment of Status that would allow one to live as an immigrant.
Consult an immigration attorney so that you could seek legal advice on your case. Good luck!

hospital B CAN NOT continue your sponsor dependent I-140 from hospital A.....you can withdraw your I140 from hospital A and reapply from hospital B.....BUT remember that your work permit will be revoked because your EAD anchors on your previously filed I485 which was anchored to your I140 from hospital A.....you can only change employer if your I485 has been filed for more than 180 days.....
if you do want to change to hospital B, remember that retrogression will start by november this year based on current schedule A visa consumption......i would caution you about changing employers based on this reason....

You change employers, you change the petition. All petitions for the RN are employer driver, meaning that you are back to square one if you decide to change.,
And good luck finding a petitioner in the Bay Area.................they aren't doing it right now.
Be aware that nothing can be submitted by a new employer without you cancelling the first petition out. And then you are right back in the beginning of things.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is retrogression?

plenty of threads in this forum but basically in the next couple of months US visas I140 are running out and may cause delays for nurses on here until things are sorted and more visas found/allocated. Main countries to be affected are here the visa demand is high
