Help!! Had entire Nclex exam

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi All,

I took the Nclex Thursday morning. After hearing almost everyone I know say they cut off at 75, thats what I was anticipating! When my computer rolled past 75 my mouth dropped open. I ended up taking the Entire freaking exam. I tried the PVT but the message said "This candidate has results on hold. No registration at this time". Please someone tell me what this means. I have turned all of my forms in and there wasnt any kind of "suspicious' act on my part when I took the test so ***** As my luck would have it, I have to wait the entire weekend before i can speak to someone. I'm over here madder than a mosquito in a mannequin factory lol (Larry the Cable Guy). any info is appreciated.

good luck on your official results!

what did you use to study?

how long did it take you to do all 265?

what was your study plan like?a

Thanks Oz..I took the Hurst Review. But unfortunately for me..it didnt help me. Exam Cram helped me more. Im just waiting on my final results and then I can offer more study help!!

There is no good or bad pop up when your results are on hold. The results are simply on hold. While it is agonzing to wait, until the hold is removed, the results are not sent to your board of nursing so you will be wasting time checking if your license has been issued. You also can't get quick results until your hold is lifted.

It could be a random audit or because you averaged less than a minute a question for the entire 265 questions received. Pearson Vue is obligated to review the videos, your test & results/keystrokes, white board etc with any "irregularities" or reports from center staff (quick testing can be considered an "irregularity" that they investigate to make certain that there was no rules broken.. It's impossible to predict whether you passed or failed based upon the number of SATA or total number of questions. I tested very quickly and had an issue with my outgoing palm scan. Granted my hold was lifted very quickly. Some people have to wait 2-3 days before the hold is lifted.

As long as you didn't break any of the rules (test materials, cell phone, talking, etc.) your results won't be invalidated you'd be required to answer to your BoN (a few previous posters were caught texting or using their cell phone on break and had their test results invalidated. And then had to answer to inquiries to their board of nursing, I think one was not permitted to resit the exam while another was but had to wait the 90 days for a new ATT valid period. Not positive but it was a while ago.)

Hurry up and wait is the most difficult thing to do. However, on the positive side Pearson Vue staff does work on weekends so there is the possibility that your hold may be released soon. Sit tight, try and relax and wait for it to say that your hold is lifted.

IMHO you went too quickly and that is why you are on hold. They allot 90 seconds per question for the full 265 question exam, you used 45 seconds per question. I'm sure if you failed they would not care to review how you finished so fast. So that being said I believe it is good as long as everything is on the up and up, you are an RN. Welcome to the newbie club, I'm a new member too. :)

Right! That's what I'm saying yea it may be on hold but it you failed they wouldn't care to check

I honestly believe the both of you because my whole point is "If you failed they wouldnt care how you failed or why..the point is that you failed" I must admit..I did go pretty quickly because I am a fast reader. Hopefully I know know tomorrow. Thanks guys

I wonder why if you're a quick tester or fast reader that would raise suspicion? And if a person finishes quickly with 75 questions, they probably never took a break eliminating the opportunity to use a phone. I remember a girl I was in school with would finish a 30 question exam in about 15 minutes. I thought to myself, wow! but never thought it was suspicious.

I just took my nclex on 6/28. When she made me take off my jewelry,(watch, bracelet, necklace) I asked if she wanted me to take off my earrings too. She said no, those are fine. But I said, well I'm gonna anyway, lol.

Ryleighsmommy, I hope you find out that you passed!

@Justbeachynurse I understand your point and I agree that the hold pop-up doesn't indicate passing or failing but when I got that same pop-up, my status already said delivery successful. It never said on hold.

The next day my pop-up changed to the good pop-up and then my quick results were available about an hour late.

@ryleighsmommy: Good luck! I hope you get good news!

dang girl, its like prison hahaha, I was worried they was gonna make me take my engagement ring of, I was gonna say something like really?... what can I possibly hide???

Yes it was like prison for me as well lol..thanks guys for the encouragement. Im just gonna keep the faith and pray for the best. My status is still saying delivery successful but im still getting the pop up. Im still standing my ground of why would they review it if you failed. I will keep you guys posted. Hopefully i will get questions answered tomorrow

They review for irregularities regardless of pass fail if the testing site submitted a report notification. For example if you had brought in NCLEX or other review materials or perhaps were observed or suspected of discussing the test with another tester between breaks your results would be on hold for the investigation. The hold review would be to complete the investigation even though you failed, but in this case you would be reported to the BoN for failure to follow the rules and possibly cheating and may not be permitted to retest in the future.

In your case, you tested quickly have no obvious rule violations that you are aware of, so hopefully your hold is due to either a random test audit (they do complete these) or the fact that you tested so quickly.

Yes, its hard to wait. I just would hate to see you get your hopes up and receive bad news (even having to retake the NCLEX at no charge because the computer had a problem would be bad news to me, worse than failing...There was a group of testers who had computer issues (I believe the calculator function did not work during a particular testing time at various sites) All testers results were placed on hold and then later invalidated (no one was notified if they passed or failed) and then given credit to resit the NCLEX at a later date for no charge. I know not your case (I'd hope you would know if your computer malfunctioned :D or a testing component didn't work), but there are so many variables that we are not privileged to know that I've learned to not over speculate or get my hopes up too high until you get official notice.

I was hesitant to trust the "quick results" that I paid for since they were unofficial and wouldn't refer to myself as a nurse until my license was posted an agonizing 6 weeks later. (My state does not post license numbers right after NCLEX is passed as there are several other steps in the process including board approval of all licenses once all requirements are met.)

Here's hoping that you get your passing results quickly.:yelclap: so you can officially celebrate the next step in your career :w00t:

LOL JustbeachyNurse..as nervous as I was I probably wouldnt have noticed if my hair was on fire. But there wasnt any computer probs or anything. The PearsonVue site said my results were delivered successfully if that means anything. In your experience have you ever heard anyone say their results were on hold but then later failed? Im not getting my hopes up or anything, Im just pretty much hoping for the best in all of this. Thinking positive is helping the time fly by
