I need advise ...Im stuck. I will be applying to 2 nursing school for this year. But need input on which one (if I was to get accepted to both). I am a LVN (I and one is a ADN and the other is a BSN.
Tarleton State - BSN
--------------------
1) 54 miles from home
2) only two more semesters longer than the ADN program
3) I could borrow the additional money for babysitting. (3 in school 2 preschool)
4) starts fall/05
5) I wanted to get my BSN anyway. If I do it this was I am saving time and money
6) by starting in the fall I could go to my CC during the summer and complete my AA degree and then I would be done with all the pre classes required. With the exception of stats ,I forgot about that...
Weatherford
------------
1) only three semester and I could be done 5/06
2) I would get minimal FA because I am maxed out
3) about 40 miles from home
4) starts 6/05
I just want to get done but, it looks like the BSN program is a better choice. Maybe I just needed to write all this down and compare myself..I you were in my situation what would you do? Providing the chances are ok that you would get into both.

I would, in your case, do the BSN. And I do have an adn, so it's not a "BSN is better thing" for me, but it seems the better choice in YOUR situation. Good luck.

I also have an ADN (and plan to get my BSN)
In your specific situation, I would also have to agree w/you to get the BSN

It sounds like you'd rather get the BSN, so why not? :wink2: It makes perfect sense to me to go that route. Good luck.... hope you get your acceptance soon! :balloons:

As long as you can handle it financially and family dynamic wise, go for the BSN.
Yes, writing it down often does the trick.
Good luck!

I agree, go for the BSN, it starts a year earlier, and isn't that much more commuting time.
Good luck.

Agreed with everyone here! You have the opportunity NOW to complete your BSN, so I would take it. We all know that life sometimes gets in the way at unexpected times, and you may not have the time/money later on. :)
Best of luck to you!

If you know for a fact that you want your BSN eventually, why wait? Do it now.
Good luck, whatever you decide! :)

txspadequeen921, wow! i felt like i was reading my same dilemma. for me too, the bsn program will require a minimum of one-hour travel in one direction while the adn, is directly across the street! but i too have surpassed the amount of f.a. i would be able to get.
i decided on accepting the bsn because besides the money issue, i'll be closer to my goal of being a nursing educator (if i still head in that direction).
of course, i'm single with no children, so for me i won't have the same familial responsibilities, but i think that if you can go for the bsn, it would be a great step if you do want to go further with a higher degree (master's etc.).
good luck to you!
