Hi All,
Does anyone know if a Hello Kitty Blood Pressure cuff and/or a Hello Kitty Back Pack and scrubs allowed at Dallas Nursing Institute (DNI)?
Thanks

OK, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
Now, let's return to topic. Check with the school as to what is acceptable. I truly doubt that they care what kind of backpack you carry.
Students are usually advised as to what is acceptable to wear and nobody in my class purchased a bp cuff set up. You do know that there are ones in class to use and the facilities have their own.
Keep the kitty where it belongs, on binders or pens.
You are judged by what you wear and how you act. You're an adult and a student, reflect that in your image.

i dont think she will be judged just because she likes hello kitty. i think hello kitty is cute that doesnt mean she has to be of a particular age. i just think that you would probably have to wear uniforms that they will offer you. i know at my friends program they had to purchase a bp cuff and they could have any design they like. i have a bp and its hot pink with diff color butterflies. it doesnt mean that im childish and not acting my age.. it means that its bright and colorful and not mediocre. dont worry about these other ppl telling you not to like hello kitty.

Nobody said she couldn't like Hello Kitty. It's just one would expect somebody about to start nursing school would have a lot more concerns other than making sure they can carry a backpack and wear scrubs with their favorite cartoon character on it. Most people are on here asking what kind of backpack they should carry related to their comfort and function. They' re asking about what kind of medical equipment works best for the best value. Not asking about how pretty they can be.
HAHAHAAA!! This is hilarious! I knew that someone would say this. I was waiting on it! I've decided against the HK gear. It just didn't look right to me either.
I'm 32 and I work with troubled teens and primary aged kids on the side. They happen to love Hello Kitty and Tinkerbell. I've grown to love them myself. (I know... How immature of me to adapt!) I'm a very mature systems analyst for the largest bank in america. I'm also an activity coordinator for a 500 member church; and I work with alot of youth activities...
Anybody else got a problem with that? I'm just kidding, I'm also not easily offended.. it's cool..
well mrsraisinkain.. one SHOULDNT EXPECT. this is lame that yall are talking about her in this way because she wants hello kitty and yall dont even know her situation. obviously she has stated why she wanted it. who cares what people like and why they like it or why they want it. she probably does have a lot more concerns. i wonder about what type of shoes will work for my comfort as well but i damn sure dont want them to be ugly. so heck, if the biggest backpack is hello kitty and the scrubs fit the best are hello kitty. why are you worried about it. why are you worried about what her concerns are.. you're lame.
Those weren't what her questions were. And I'm worried about what her concerns are because she posted them on a public forum. We shall have to agree to disagree on this one.
you're worried because its a public forum..that makes no sense at all. but yes we will disagree completely. because i dont see where you're coming from.
I wanted to know the dresscode for a particular nursing school that I attend. I was scouting for a bp cuff ahead of time and just so happen to see a hello kitty bp cuff. GeauxNursing attended this school and answered my question. Posting this question in a Public Texas Nursing Forum seemed pretty logical to me for a quick answer. Plus I thought it was just humorous. Woo.. Lighten up. I'd be scared if a nurse was as uptight as a couple of people on this forum and would not feel comforted at all. Wow.
