This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.

It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

Hi Cyndie - welcome to the Healthier Living Thread. :balloons:

I haven't done WW - but I'm sure that most programs work - you just have to find the one that fits YOU.

I'm feeling overwhelmed today - I am struggling with stats - called the prof three times today. Then had to run to the nearest (21 miles) pharmacy for my father-in-law for Reglan - he is in terrible abd pain - just got out of the ER this morning (was in a car accident with a cow last night but the abd pain is not related to that). My house is a mess. I have 3 more problems to do for stats class tomorrow. Dinner is not ready.

I have to admit that I ate a wonderful pastry at lunch - made by a friend as a Christmas present for us. Filled with cream cheese. And a cup of coffee. But for breakfast I had a soy and banana and yogurt shake. Tonight I'm making turkey chili.

Some days are hard, some are easy. Everyone just needs to be gentle with themselves. We are not perfect

End of whine/sermon. ;)

I 'd like to join your thread. I have lost weight this year about 60lbs but could use another 25lbs off. This month has been horrid for me though, I need to get my butt in gear again so maybe we could motivate each other. ww is a great program, you need to find what works best for you. They have a couple programs i believe you can follow.

I haven't joined online, and I'm too lazy to go to their meetings, but I do eat the weight watchers "smart ones", and I especially love the deserts. I eat one desert with every dinner meal. I started early November and by the end of the month lost about 12 pounds.

I haven't weighed myself since then because it's the end of the semester and I tend to allow myself more fat during finals. (I've tried to limit my "cheating" to just breakfast sandwiches) I know I haven't gained the weight back because of the way my clothes now fit, but my focus right now is on my finals. But after friday, I plan to get back on track.

Well, I just started WW online. Im very nervous and afraid of failure. I have had it being overweight!!!!! I gained so much weight in nursing school!! Is anyone else on WW?

Please, I need support!!!!!!:o

Hello!! Welcome to the world of imperfection.

I'd love it if some of us lived nearby so we could walk together. Just getting outside is great. And then talking too.

Poor guy :( Probably this whole situation just kicked everything up again. How's MIL's BP?

Thank you all! I need the support. Well, I see how the WW program works, I just hope I can stick to it. DH looks at me with doubt in his eyes whenever I tell him the point values of the foods I'm eating.

I worked out on my elliptical trainer at 14 miles per hour for 20 min. It nearly killed me. I was sweating like a pig. LOL, at least the exercise is done for the day....

Have a great day everybody!

Welcome Cyndie! I too am doing WW. Tried the online thing, and it didn't work for me - I need to focus/accountability of the face to face meetings. Down 5 lbs so far. I didn't get to weigh in last week, snowing too hard and I didn't want to mess with it.

Personally I prefer the WW core program over the points one. It is more limiting on what you can eat, but you don't have to count points. Counting points made me obsess (sp) about eating all day, instead of figuring out if I was even hungry or not. Then I would save my 35 weekly bonus points for something special, like wine with dinner or a meal out. Good luck!

Welcome to you, Jane, as well!!!

Hey Bluehair!

Well, I did great yesterday...I didnt even eat all my points, which they tell me is a no-no..... THere is soo much unhealthy food availible to me at work that I just refused to eat any of it....I just ate an apple instead..

A secretary offered me some tamales, and they looked so delicious. I was proud of myself for kindly turning her down. She tried to force me but I remained firm.... Next time I'll except them and save them for my hubby.....when my will power is alittle stronger! LOL! Ahhhhhh, this is going to be tough...

I did 30min of elliptical trainer at 12mph today, now drinking water......

Have a great day everyone.....

((((((((((Cyndie and Bluehair )))))))))) keep it up!

I went to the last bra hook yesterday (or is it first?) without even thinking yesterday! So I am definitely losing inches even tho the scale does not seem to be leaping downward ... I almost think it's a test - as in, keep going, despite the numbers ... (I have lost 11 lb in I think 4 mos.)

Thanks Zoe!

The bra hook victory is what the WW clique calls a non scale victory!!!! Congrats!! My turn is coming soon...

Hi everyone,

Yeah, I think my clothes fit just a tad different in the left thigh area. but not much on the scale front as far as number differences.

Overall, eating is much better than this time last year.

Started preparing the garden today. Later this week will find me up on the slope pulling weeds.

Didn't think the kids and I were going to make it through the day. I finally hid in front of the computer with a bad snacks. I really am an emotional eater. I've known this but sometimes, I forget.

I gotta win the little battles bit by bit. Eventually, I will win the war. I'm in this for the long haul. I've been thinking about doing WW. I'll keep ya posted.

I did great again yesterday. At work, there have been christmas parties daily. I dodged cheesecake from one end, and cookies and cakes from the other. I know I can indulge if I want, but I feel to vulnerable at this point. Maybe in a few weeks. Plus, Im going to my mom's for christmas and I think I'll splurge then. We'll see.

Counting points is getting easier by the day. I have dropped about 3 lbs, probably water weight. I will keep it up for now, one day at a time.....
