Aunt Flo and Cousin Cramp come to visit ...

Anywhoosie, 3mile walk completed today. Finished with yoga stretch to prevent pain. Still thinking that I might need to incorporate more weight training in my workout. somewhere I've gotta book about this, I think?!!??????? Oh, dear, I know I went to the library to get a book about this, now where did I put it? I'll try the kitchen counter in the morning.

... eggs and spinach? I don't know.

... haven't found any other snails in the house. Hurray!!!!

Never heard of Cousin Cramp, really - I don't get them too bad. I DO get irritable tho in case you haven't read my p soup saga the last few days ... that is done with THANK YOU GOD! ( \O/ on my knees with praying hands raised up high...) -

Congrats on all your exercise! Wow! As to losing stuff - oh my gosh - (shaking my head and opening eyes wide) - I am just AMAZING the stuff I lose... and I'm not that bad a pack rat so I just don't understand...

Eggs and spinach... do you mean together?? or ... ?

TG for NO SNAILS! Found a ton of ants at the front door of my building today tho, someone had spilled food - they looked like fire ants - :nono: I washed it and them away - no no no, not coming into MY house ...

Changing shoes midway through is a good idea. I hadn't thought about that. I was planning on bringing a separate pair of shoes only for work and keeping them in my locker; with the NICU babies being so immunocompromised I hate the idea of bringing something in as much as I hate the idea of bringing something out. Are you suggesting I now have to buy TWO new pairs of shoes??? I could probably talk myself into that fun task :D.

As far as peeing. . . the bathroom is sooooo far away. I do try, though ;).

Have you heard anything about DH's job? Of course with all your travelling (not to mention writing papers--I'm not jealous of that, LOL) maybe you haven't been around enough to hear? ;) Are you looking forward to potentially moving? Sometimes a change feels pretty good.

Yup, 2 pair of shoes are better than one, especially when they are a tax deduction! Which they would be when you leave them at work!

No real word yet on DH job. Denver hasn't called yet this week, tho Bakersfield has been playing phone tag trying to set up a second interview. Either place is fine, we aren't looking at either long term at this point. The purpose is to boost his retirement pay, so camping anywhere for a few years works just fine. Meanwhle I am not sure what I want to do when I grow up. :uhoh3: I look at job openings in both areas and think 'I've already done that, what else is out there?'. Guess that's the problem of being a 'seasoned' nurse. I know what I don't want to do more than what I do want to do. Perfect job for me = no more than 32 hrs/week, days, most weekend/holiday shifts off but a few won't kill me. And NO ON CALL!!! Other than that, no idea.

Off to the treadmill and a quick yoga tape before work. Clawing my way back onto the wagon! :lol2:

Hi Zoe,

I think I saw the book on the kitchen counter. :uhoh21:not ready to look under the pile though. [Zoe, we are terrible pack-rats. Even after we clean things out, we just bring more back in. oh well . . . one day . . .]

Instead I washed the clothes. You know how it is, time to wash the clothes or everyone stands around in underwear :nono:. Sooooo, the laundry is almost finished. I still have to wash all the sheets but we now have plenty of clean nice smelling clothes for the week. . [My mommy would be so proud ;).]

No, I haven't read your p soup saga. I'll have to go back and find it.

As for the snails, things still look good: as in no snails indoors ;).

We have a small pool in our community so I swam 4-5 laps this evening. I couldn't swim longer otherwise I would. Oh my swimming is not the beautiful smooth effortless swimming one might think of. Oh no, my swimming is "the please help me get to the place where I can touch or I will die from drowing" stroke. I think it might be getting a tad better on the count that no people observing looked as frightened this time. And it does help that the pool is only 5feet at the deepest part. That said I am only 5ft 2in soooo yep over my head. anyway, it is motivational, right?

Now then, about that spinach and eggs . . . umm, yes, we mix them. it's called scrambled eggs with spinach. Okay so we are not the most original family but, hey it's workin for us. ;) This ended up being dinner. The boys had cereal and yogurt for breakfast.

Whoa, sorry to hear about the ants . . . and fire ants at that. Not too nice if they get grumpy. How long did it take you to finally get rid of them? Was anyone stung? Hope not.

Ahhhh, the food trail. yeah that happened over here alot too with the boys. now that the pest people come to spray, we don't seem to have an ant problem anymore.

It's time for me to go. Goodnight everyone. Have a good day tomorrow.

We have a prayer list thread going, bluehair, if you want to post on that! I am happy for you!

I am doing better the last couple days, got placed on antihypertensive yesterday and I am NOT happy about it! I know what I have to do - you guys, don't be so easy on me! This is getting serious.

Cracked me up about the underwear!

I am skeptical about the spinach/eggs, but I do like spinach quiche so it may be ok - better to have eggs W/ a veg than without... does anyone really think Eggland Eggs could possibly be lower cholesterol as they claim by the way?

I've never really thought that the eggs were much of a problem, and they're encouraged by the Doc who wrote the South Beach diet. During the first phase of the diet, I was eating eggs almost every morning in some form or another. And I lost about 14-15 lbs that first two weeks. However, I haven't had my cholesterol checked, either, so maybe it's not all that. I do exercise daily, and that has to be helpful in keeping that and the BP under control. I swear by good cardio exercise.

I went walking today, felt good - wearing my Red Sox shirt so I got lots of smiles (sticking my tongue out at you ;) )... Ate my oatmeal fruit and salad and olive oil and chicken w/o the skin O: Will have some watermelon later tonite, maybe w/ some cottage cheese ...

Started my bp med yesterday, did I tell you guys? I just feel so much better - calmer ... I think my body was panicking and I just didn't know why...

Well I think that there was a study saying eggs were bad, then a study saying eggs were good, so I guess that means we can do whatever we want ;)

o course part of the badness can be what we cook them in/with.

I agree with you about the eggs!

And I'm happy that you feel better today with the BP med. Take care, OK?

No comment on the RED SOX then eh?

lol

Hey guys I just passed my first kidney stone. Anybody have that lovely experience before? Just wanting some advice on how to avoid having this happen again. I still have to get the stone analyzed to see what it's made of. I'm fairly overweight and have currently been working at taking some of it off (6 # so far). I'm hoping that (and just eating healthier in general) will keep the kidney stones at bay!
