Good luck Anne. Drink lots of water and green tea. That might help with the hunger. But if you're hungry and "only" have 20 lbs. 1300 might be too low for you. I know when I seriously diet, I'm the same way, hungry all the time. I have to eat five small meals so that when I'm get really hungry it's close to time to eat something again. The best hunger killer I know is good old peanut butter and jelly. Fat, protein and carbs (whole grain bread of course) to kill the appetite.
Perhaps though it might get easier.
the exercise does better than more consistant you are..the muscles that haven't been used in a while takes some waking up
add extra minutes walking slowly, like once a week,
if you don't lose weight quickly don't be discouraged sometimes it is adipose tissue being replace by muscle
good luck
Hi everyone!
Angie - Excellent plan! It really makes it fun when you can plan a day of wild abandon from the whole diet plan. It's fun to look forward to, and if you have been good all month it seems like not so big a deal once you do endulge. Sometimes it feel[/url]s like some things weren't such a big thing to give up after all. The seafood sounded great!
Muffie - You go girl!
Angie, I am soooooo jealous. That sounds like a perfect day.
And hello to you, Blue.
Anne, welcome :) Any way you can increase your exercise time? Add some walking into your day. I think diets are backwards--a lot of them have you eat low calories for a few weeks, then add exercise when you're already faint from hunger. . . I may just be speaking of my own experience here
I've found that when I'm active, I naturally eat to hunger. 1300 doesn't really seem like that many calories; no wonder you're hungry Stay with us; I think we're the best kept secret here on Allnurses
Final Las Vegas vacation installment:
First part of the trip was going to the horse show (World Cup) with 5 other ladies from home. One in our party has been battling breast cancer for the last 5 years. It has been her goal for the last 2 years to get to World Cup and she got there! Her last round of chemo was about 3 weeks prior to the trip. During the trip we all started to notice how little she would eat/drink. Night before they were all supposed to be heading home, she was SO weak. Ended up in Vegas ER, admitted to ICU for sepsis & dehydration. Long story short, she's still there and is making progress, but is very very weak. PT eval today said she barely could sit on the edge of the bed. They are hoping to get her to rehab for a few days to help her get stronger, then ??? home??? Her family is all in Iowa and can't get there right now. We were all running out of $$$ and our own meds and had to get home to various responsibilities. Ugh. Can't decide if she went downhill fast or was putting on a good show so she could get to World Cup. She's been confused with the dehydration but that seems to be resolving slowly. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers.
DH came out for a few days and was great about helping out with all the hospital issues. We did get to see our friend in Laughlin for a bit. Our last night we spent at Caesar's. While checking in, the clerk noticed I am from her home state. She was so happy to see someone 'from home' (only a few hours down the road at least). She quietly murmured something about upgrading my room that I barely heard. We finished our friendly greetings and chat about home and DH and I proceeded to the room. OMG!!!! It had to be about 1200 sq ft! The foyer had a bronze sculpture. There was a good sized wet bar (not stocked, they didn't know we were coming! LOL!). Two bathrooms stocked with Aveda skin and hair products (not any more!), full size bottles of mens after shave and cologne, wome's perfume and scented body powder. A dining room that seats 6. Two living areas with TV's. One was a little more casual with the full stereo system/DVD/56" wide screen TV, etc. There was a lovely stained glass divider between the 'formal' living room and dining room. Master bedroom was huge, with a 4 poster bed and a chaise lounge in one corner. The shower was amazing. Felt like it was 3 X water flow (nice water conversation in the desert.... not!) with a separate hand held one if you needed even more water. There was a separate jet tub to boot. We didn't check in until late after hospital duty, but still had some time to shop in the Forum shops (got me a new Swatch Watch!). Splurged on a lovely chocolate raspberry cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory and got it to go. We enjoyed our final few hours letting cheesecake melt in our mouth (the dollop of fudge on top was memorable) along with a nice bottle of wine before collapsing in a heap in bed. There's lots of good reasons to live in small rural communities and this one just got added to my list!!! We probably would not have gotten this much upgrade otherwise. It helped it was mid-week so the room was just begging for use.
Sorry for rambling so long!!!! HAD to post about the room good fortune! Time for bed, then on to Laundry Mountain in the a.m.
Later!!!
Hi Zoe! The prices are pretty comparable (comparably outrageous, that is); it's a tourist area, after all. The goal was to get us both out of the house and moving. You can get a great grouper sandwich ...
I had a huge grouper sandwich (my first) when I visited with my bro in Clearwater FL - oh my gosh, to die for ...
I'm trying to keep to 1300 calories a day
Hi Anne, welcome! I don't know if that is enough calories, if it is too few your body will HANG ON to fat.
going to the club tomorrow [ww] , should be exciting newshad a nice 40 min walk today
invigorating
Oh hon, you are so good! I was wicked bad today -
(friend) Ended up in Vegas ER, admitted to ICU for sepsis & dehydration.
Will pray for her, that's awful! and I can imagine how family feels - that was probably their worst fear around her going to LV.
We finished our friendly greetings and chat about home and DH and I proceeded to the room...
Little tough to be in the "real world" now I bet!

I'm trying to keep to 1300 calories a day and some light excersize. I'm super out of shape and 20 pounds from my goal weight. Its so hard though. I'm hungry all the time and am doubting if I can live like this. I've only been doing this for a week. I keep thinking that I will get used to it eventually and not be hungry. I looked up my bmr and its only 1375. I'm kind of a couch potatoe and a half hour of excersize is all I can do right now, outside of everyday activities housework and such doesnt really burn much fat. What do you all try to eat for calories?
