Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....
Anyhow, I have enjoyed so much your sharing, help and support here on the Healthier Living Thread....let's keep it up!!!!!:)
QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?
I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....
Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????
Dh, only worked 2 hours today so he is home. The snow was unbearable and they had to stop working (construction work).I am about to make some baked flounder with lemon, pepper and spices. Maybe wild rice and a bowl of "sopa de fideos" tomato noodle soup, to keep us warm.
Tell your hubby he and his coworkers are WIMPS!
I am just kidding, it has really been something around here, gonna post some photos if this thing works. The beauty in the photos belies how deadly this stuff can be! Especially if a passing car doesn't see people working on the side of the road - WHOA - bet they get close sometimes! The visibility was awful today!
Tell him to be careful, and you be careful too!
:)
edit: darn it this tool is so hard to use, I don't know why, I go back and smallen my attachments and try again (they are too big) and I can't get the smaller ones on either. Well I will find a way...

It wasn't his decision to come back home, as the boss said so :roll
Loved the picture! It looks like a postcard. It looks just like here too. It was too cold for me to go outside and take pics, but dh did film part of the storm.

I have a whole bunch but they won't upload and the one that I did is so small, grrr.......
Seeing it in actuality tho - PRICELESS!
The boss was probably right - I used to really enjoy getting sent home early from work (slow census, or whatever) - a treat, to me. Many would complain about lost hours but I never cared LOLOL

Yeah, it's priceless to see it in person.
Dh, dreads the winter because the job slows down. He is a foreman, but if there is no job-sites there is no job. Not a good thing for us
Hopefully this year will keep them working steady. He had to commute to Massachusetts or New York everyday last winter, it was a nightmare. (We are in Connecticut).
Went outside to dig out my car already, off to school I go. Have a good day!

Not much of a "vacation" (for him) if the whole time your chomping at the bit, wondering every day if you get to work and can pay that bill... I remember sometimes working agency was that way and it was torture, I could not enjoy my time when I was "supposed" to be working.
Take care Jess! :)
Hey everyone! Well I resisted the urge to order a pizza @ 2200 last nite. I'm gonna slip up tonite though, maybe go out for dinner since we are going to see one of our bands. Don't want to drink on an empty stomach (u don't wanna know what happend last time I forgot I was dieting and went out).
Tweety are you back on track now? That's what really matters. And please don't become that kind of nurse you described above. You know as well as I do they are truly miserable people. Emotional train wreck derailing and binging on food occasionally to cope sounds way more appealing to me. :chuckle
Fonenurse congrats on the 30lbs!!! I lost 20 and dh lost 35. 60 more to go for me. I went shopping with a gift card for my bday and had to poke my head out and ask for a smaller size. Woohoo!!!!
