As to "cursing yourself" - I have always heard it said that to weigh yourself once a month is the best way, because of those fluctuations... obviously, I could only wait the two weeks to check my progress LOL - but I think I needed that ..

Gentle, sorry you've been under the weather.
I went to the gym today and worked out good, but went to an Xmas party and didn't have much self-control............I enjoyed every minute of it.

Hi everyone,
Christmas shopping is finished. The exercise and food issues are not perfect but doing better. One step at a time. The weight appears to be fluctuating a bit down and then up. I think I need to weigh in 1 time per month as previously posted.
I am looking forward to Decembers 26th, Tweety. I think that is probably a good day to dig in a press forward more intensely.
Our family is doing well .

Well I just had to share a little vic'try before I go to work. I started out at 166 lb in November sometime (not sure when) - at 4'11 not too healthy!! On Dec. 1st I was 163 - today AFTER breakfast I was 159!! Thank you God :) This just from cutting sugar and flour from my diet (and fast food, and fried food... ) and eating like 3 TIMES the fruit and veg I used to eat!wheeee!

At work, the "lady who bakes" was very distressed when I told her I wasn't doing sugar and flour. She said she would bring me something else, but she didn't! I thanked her graciously ... I sampled a little of one thing, then put them up in the freezer ... the next day they were driving me nuts so I threw them out!
Then our work party, it was at a Chinese buffet!!! Yes, all you can eat... I did so so, you really can't get much Chinese food without sugar and flour - unless you are ordering from a menu. I did have a slice of cheesecake afterwards and it was worth it. My pants are still getting looser. I'm not weighing myself again til after the first of the year. It's too discouraging to see the wt go up and down! (especially up...)

I don't know. I noticed the same thing when I sneak off and weigh at work.
I wonder if it could be the difference in clothing that we wear at the doctor's office versus at home.
Oh well, work today had tons . . . I mean lots of chocolate. I didn't eat it all but man . . . oh man. Interestingly, as I keep trying to change my diet, I am getting tired of eating junk. I like this change. Well, off to journal then to bed. Work tomorrow.

I AM having fewer cravings but with those two things I had last week I was struggling not to "find" more... If I do without it the cravings seem to stay away...

Mind if I jump in, friends? NS and working have added a good 20 pounds to my short little body in the last year and a half--and I still had a good ten pounds to go from my baby when I started school.
I've signed up for a cardio class next semester (at least I have one class I'm looking forward to ). We're doing Christmas today since I work tomorrow, so while DH is napping and the kids are busy setting up dollhouses and playing gameboys (I admit, I caved this year), I'm going to head over to the gym and put in an hour today--that should make up for the candy I've been "sharing" from the kids' stockings. Maybe not, but it should still feel good...

That "looking forward to it" attitude really makes a difference. I'm glad! The "I'm dreading it" attitude I often have makes it REALLY HARD!

I've been out sick. not walking much. now back in the swing of things. weight is going well. definitely not gaining any additional weight and things are looking very very good in the scale department. (I don't want to curse myself by writing down numbers until, I see more things that are concrete. like my change in habits which will support the numbers and not cause fluctuation.) Sooooo, off i go to make lunch.
