Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.

This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.

It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

Sarah, that's terrible. You didn't piss anyone off did you? j/k

Tweety - LOL - that's exactly what I was wondering. Not that I know of, but sometimes I think being at the top of the class grade-wise ticks people off in general. I hope that's not it. I was worried about that, I am a pretty quiet and reserved person and I don't get into gossip circles or anything like that, so I don't know. I think it was just because fall semester is starting and there are a lot of crazies out there causing grief. At least I hope that's the deal, otherwise I might not have a car left in two years. Oh well - gotta quit worrying about it, even if it is my grades, I'm not gonna start getting bad grades for anybody (at least not on purpose anyway - LOL - give me a few more classes and my tune may change - hehe).

Anyway, that aside, life is good. Walked my little guy to preschool this morning and will walk down again to pick him up this afternoon. I like this walking and am going to keep it up as long as the weather permits. :)

Have a good day y'all!

RN2Be, I understand. That's quite an undertaking. I had to do it myself and it was the toughest thing I've every done. It's hard to find balance. I didn't eat too great in school, but I management to go jogging every other day. I seriously think that was my salvation because it really helped to break up the stress. Don't know how I fit in.

It not the same thing, but I'm a little agitated myself about my upcoming course in Patho. Buzz is that it's the hardest most time consuming course. I was spoiled with the last couple of courses not being too overwhelming.

I've been taking steambaths the last couple of days and relaxing in the jacuzzi. My next house when I win the lottery is going to have a steambath and jacuzzi.

LOL - I like that idea Tweety! I have been using nice, hot baths in the evening as a relaxation technique in my house - it seems to help. I have vowed to be good today, regardless of what gets brought into the office. I have managed to avoid the huge stack of cookies on the break-room table, so that is one good thing. I'm going to walk down to the grocery store at noon and buy a bag of lettuce for lunch too! :)

Have a good one!

Way to go Sarah. As I'm sure you're aware from other posts in this thread that food at work is a big problem with me.

I went to the gym today for the first time in a week and did a mild short workout to ease myself back into it. The good news is that I didn't gain any weight on vacation. All that good vegetarian food along with walking and hiking up those hills paid off.

Yeay Tweety! That's my worst spot too - food at work. Doing pretty good today, had a small serving of tortilla chips and salsa rather than the donuts/cakes that came in this morning. :) I am happy with that. Leaving early to get my hair colored, so yeay! That always makes me feel better inside which makes me want to take even better care of myself! :D Silly, I know, but it works.

I know hubby is bringing home pizza for supper tonight, so I will eat some, but I'm also going to make up a big 'ol salad and eat that and then the pizza in moderation. Hopefully that will be better for me than just chowing down on a 1/2 a pizza or something - LOL!

Have a healthy day all!

Hi everyone!

I've lost 10 #, more or less. That is, some days more, some less, but now I'm averaging about 10. I feel like I'm eating very healthy compared to the way I was eating before. Haven't had any candy, cake, chocolate, ice cream or other no-no's since the beginning of July.

I needed to get serious and I have kept track in my journal.

Has anyone ever had a Thai massage? I saw one offered at my job, and it lasts 120 minutes. There's a discount because it's at work, which is great, but it's still pretty steep. I thought after I lost another 10 pounds, that'd be my reward.

I bring a yogurt or a cottage cheese double to work with me these days, but frankly, we've been so busy that if I have to eat anything more, I get a few bites of salad, and wait till I get home.

So glad to see that everyone's doing well! I've missed you all, just had a couple of emotional/mental hangups to resolve before I could feel comfortable getting my appetite on a healthier track.

That's all we can do sometimes Sarah is eat in moderation the bad stuff, rather than totally deny ourselves.

Way to go Angie!!!!! I think Thai massage incorporates movement/yoga in it's massage and can be a bit tough on the body. 120 minutes is a looooong time.

I need to find a new yoga class as the studio I go to is shutting down this week. I'm sort of stuck in my ways, but change is always good. There's a studio in north St. Pete that does nothing but hot yoga. It's a bit far and probably going to be a bit strenuous for me, but I may check them out. There's a closer studio, but they don't do hot. We'll see.

I've only heard of Hatha Yoga. What's Hot Yoga?

Great job guys! I have stocked up on lettuce for our fridge in the break room. :D

The room is heated up to about 100-105 degrees. To help you stretch better and detoxify. I love it. I'm going to miss it.

The class I went to last night was awesome. So I think I'll go to that guy on Tuesdays. The nearest hot stuido is in North St. Pete and I live in the extreme south, so it's quite a haul. Tampa has a great studio called Yogini, they offer hot and normal yoga. You should check them out.

Sounds interesting, Tweety. I might try it one of these days. But I'm seriously afraid that any kind of quiet exercise or meditation would just put me right to sleep where I stand (or sit as the case may be.) :)

Of course, cost is a factor now, too. $2.99/gal here. :(
