Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.
This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!
Hi everybody! RN, the whole grain pizza sounds great - yummy! Tweety, I liked the idea of sleeping for three hours - LOL - that sounds like good meditation to me!
Well phooey, I don't know what has happened to all of my self-restraint, it seems to have disappeared completely. I don't get it, I am happy, I feel great and I am doing what I love, so what's with all the junk food? Hmm. I need to really work on this, but for some reason I am totally struggling right now. Ok - I'm back to let's try this one day at a time and see where it takes me. We'll see how that goes. :)
Either way, I am so upbeat, I love where I am in life, it feels so great to be here. :) I had this weekend off and went school-clothes shopping in the city for my soon-to-be preschooler - yikes! He starts on Tuesday. :) Today will be work for me and then prepping for a test (we're in gerontology right now) for tomorrow.
Have a good day everybody!
Hi Sarah, isn't it funny how some of us sometimes have that self-sabbatoge button? Seems like when things are going the best, it's time for us to mess it up for ourselves. I can so relate to that as I do it all the time.
However, today I'm doing o.k. I went to the gym and did 40 minutes of aerobics and some work with weights and have been eating relatively healthy.

Hi Tweety,
Please check your private messages, I found an interesting
site I thought you might like. Please let me know what you
think about it!
Thanks!
hi all :)
i'm enjoying my last 2 weeks of freedom before school and slightly less healthy living begins. i do try my best while in school, but the long hours just make it really hard some days.
my bf and i were supposed to bike tonight but he got stuck at work prolly until very late - boo - hate when that happens on my day off! i think i may scoot out for a run later. we were gonna bike then head to a park to play with model planes (it's like a real life video game!).
i ate so-so today...nothing terribly unhealthy but nothing great, either...i kinda skipped meals (except breakfast) and had several snacks (pretzels, sushi, a whole grain pita and some fruit). i'm getting a little nervous in anticipation of school and i think my stomach is a little testy.
well, off to practice more med terms and hit the pavement once it cools down. take care all.
Sarah, let's vow to smash that button together. NO MORE SELF-SABATOGE!!!
RN, enjoy yourself. I'm winding down my course myself. I have a final on Thursday and I can relax until the 28th.
I had a kick ass yoga class tonight. The center is closing and I have to find a new yoga studio, but there are choices.
Work was good yesterday, I ate only the healthy food I bought. Yesterday I made whole grain pasta with some sun dried tomato pesto I had bought at an Italian store and it was to die for. I added some seitan stir fried with olive oil and onions. By the time I ate that I was full and didn't add any other veggies with it, my bad. But I had broccoli and turnip greens for lunch.
This AM I'm off to the gym!
I'm still having some trouble getting started on my meditation practice. Working 12-hour shifts is a drag like that, but I can at least do a few minutes on my days off. Oh well, all we can do is try.
Ok Tweety - I am ready to destroy the button! 1 - 2 - 3 - SMASH!!!! Hehe. Ok - my co-worker and I decided we are going to walk on our breaks, so here after I teach my first childbirth class of the day we are going to walk around the building and up and down the stairs out back a couple of times at minimum. :) That is much better than sitting in the break room and munching on junk food!
Hi everybody!
Clinicals this weekend - I am nervous, but seem to be doing good (I got a 94% in clinical last time overall and 100% on my database, so yeay!) so hopefully I can keep that momentum going! Despite the nervous part, I am all excited! I love going to clinicals!!!

Worked 12 long hard hours today and am tired to the bone, with a headache to boot. I'm going to kick my feet up and watch TV. I managed a healthy diet today again at work, which is always an accomplishment given the many temptations.
