I wanted to see what you all thought of this. I have had three interviews already for this position. I have two more interviews on Tuesday with another 30 people. Then I have another one with the docs. I think interviewing with almost 50 people by the time I am done is excessive. Has anyone ever seen a person have to jump hoops like that?????

I love to help make work a decent, fair and as enjoyable place to be as it can be. I have had some doosie managers and then I had two really great ones. I learned alot of what to do and what not to do by being on both sides of the story. I think the most people I have managed is 150 and their staff is much smaller than that. They need some serious help. I love clean up too. I also like to mentor people to watch them grow.
Sorry I was so long winded, LOL,
Thanks lovely for asking,
renerian
Glad this part, at least, is over for you... now comes the wait... ohhhhhhhh, ... which is worse? Glad you felt good about the interviews.. will keep those fingers crossed, Ren ! You deserve this ! And all those nurses deserve to have a great, caring, and conscientious nurse manager ! Here's to you !!! :)
Hi Renerian, sorry I didn't see this sooner.
Maybe this whole almost bordering on intimidation thing is to weed out the scaredy cats from the tigers too!
I think it is strange to have met the other candidate, was it ucomfortable? If he/she ends up working under you, it would be weird...maybe.
I started my new job yesterday. I love this place (so far!)
Go get 'em tiger. I wish you the best wishes, prayers, vibes, and karma!!!

I wish you all the luck in the world. It sounds as if you have what it takes to be the head nurse of the floor, especially because you have oncology experience. Out of curiosity, what is it that you like about being a head nurse/nurse manager? Most managers I meet wish to get back into hands on nursing (or so they say).
