I wanted to see what you all thought of this. I have had three interviews already for this position. I have two more interviews on Tuesday with another 30 people. Then I have another one with the docs. I think interviewing with almost 50 people by the time I am done is excessive. Has anyone ever seen a person have to jump hoops like that?????

Wow thanks barefoot. I had two great mentors in my nursing career. They were great leaders and taught me how to be good to the staff and to help them grow as professionals! I have to laugh as one of them was my later in the future, husband. He is such a great nurse, leader, husband and father. I am blessed to have him as someone to inspire me.

Barefoot the hospitals here pay well and everyone is always on the lookout for a good nurse. I think the base pay is almost 29 for your years experience per hour plus shift diff, weekend diff. etc. What market are you looking at? Some of the SNFs pay 22 to 25 but the loads are awful. WE need nurses here so bad. Hospital has 4k sign on with a 2 year commitment. One SNF here is offering the same.
Let me know if your looking for a certain type of job as I can email you some information based on the paper. I would be more than happy to do that. I love living here. Almost 8 million people though for the metro area and the traffic at rush hour stinks.

When I realize how long I have been trying to get this to work I am amazed. Hospitals are so political and slow. I finally have met again with the unit manager and she had put my orientation process in writing and I am satisfied. I start Monday.
I had looked at LTC/another thread and just felt the ratios were not good.
Sigh, very hard to look for work. I really hate lay offs and hope they do not combine units or something.....
