MY QUESTIONS WAS IN REGARDS TO "WHO" FILLS THOSE POSITIONS.....not for personal assignment.
I was wondering if administrative nurses actually step in and provide direct patient care or do they use agency nurses?!?!
I realize that it must be tough for striking nurses.
ps....i only work local per diem assignments
All three hospitals have hired replacement nurses from the mainland and shifted administrative nurses to patient care. Strikers also pitched in for at least one emergency. Last Tuesday, three nurses left the picket line at St. Francis to assist in a kidney transplant because replacement nurses with the right training weren't available.

I, too am guilty of having interpreted this as a opportunity-seeking fishing expedition. Especially with the nickname I see here. I am So glad to see this is NOT the case,! I agree, this surely is not the forum for that. But that is just me.....and maybe a few others....
