Hi everyone! I'm in a BSN program, and my state allows RN students to take the NCLEX-PN after they have completed the junior year of their RN program. I just finished my junior year, and I'm preparing to take the NCLEX. Has anyone else done this? If so, did you pass the first time? Do you feel that the first year of your RN program prepared you to work as an LPN? Also, do you have any study suggestions? I'm terrified of failing!
Thanks in advance!

I know one of my classmates did, and passed. I don't know how she studied, or whether or not she's working at the moment. We just graduated last weekend.

I haven't yet, but the vast majority of my class did. Our school has 100% pass rate for LPN after first year of ADN program. Go for it!
Thanks for the encouragement!

Our state BON allows us to sit for the LPN after we complete the first year of our ADN. The only classmates taking the NCLEX-PN (that I know of) are those who are already CNAs who will get a promotion/raise for getting the LPN.
Only LPN jobs around here are in LTC, no hospitals hire LPNs around here.
I was thinking of taking it, but can't justify paying $315 for a license I'll never use.

Thanks for your reply. I agree it is expensive. LTC is the only area that really employees LPNs where I live as well. However, I'm going to need a new job once my internship ends this summer, so I'm hoping to get a part-time LPN job somewhere for the next year.
