I ran across some papers a while back that my mom had kept from when I was in kindergarten. It was a little newsletter of sorts, and the teacher had asked us all what we wanted to be when we grew up...next to my name were the words "a nurse".

I'm now 28 years old, and I don't remember ever saying that. I had found these papers AFTER I had already enrolled....

...in nursing school.

I though it was ironic in a way, and that made me wonder, have you always known you were going to be a nurse? I guess in some weird way, I DID know...when I was 5 years old....it just took me 20 some years later to figure it out! :)

Not always...up until I was 23 I wanted to be a veterinarian. :)

Specializes in ER.

:rotfl: I wanted to be an FBI agent......go figure!

Started off school as a criminal justice major when I was 18 ( a million an one years ago), and thought.....ICK!

Nope I wanted to be a singer...then I figured out I couldn't sing :uhoh21: so then I decided I wanted to be an actress on the soaps but I didn't live in Hollywood and I couldn't act so I was just outta luck :rotfl:

for as long as I can remember!

I come from a family of nurses and NO WAY was I going to be a nurse (finally ate those words at 40). :)

My first 3 years of college were spent studying zoology in hopes of one day being accepted into medical school. When I dropped organic chem for the third time I finally took some time off from school and decided that nursing is where I needed to be.

Nope. In order: go-go dancer, actress, teacher, business, teacher, and finally......... a nurse!

I always wanted to be a nurse ever since i can remember. I am now completing my third semester and can't wait to be out of school and actually start working

I wanted to be a movie star.

Didn't even occur to me until age 26-27.

Before that it was field biologist, doctor, physicist, teacher, or astronaut.
