Has anyone gone thru www.eline.tamucc.edu to get their RN degree?

How was it? Is it legit? Is it accredited?

I am looking for a p/t program I can kinda take at my own pace as I already am an engineer working full time and have a 14 month old son. I have to work f/t so p/t school is the only option for me to get into nursing as a second career.

Any comments on this program are appreciated. Thanks.

Is this program only for students that have completed their prerequisites?

You must complete your pre-reqs before you are allowed to take any of the eLine nursing classes. If you are close to finishing pre-reqs, you can apply and receive conditional admission. I applied a few months ago and was accepted on conditional admission. I am finishing up 2 pre-req classes for this current Spring semester and I will start eLine in the summer.

The tests are administered on-line. The only tests that have to be proctored are the HESI exams.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions. I hope this isn't too much of a bother, but I have just one more, ok two more :0).

1. Do your transcripts show that you are graduating from the e-line program, or do you earn the exact same degree/transcripts as the other ADN or BSN students?

2. As far as I can tell, I don't see any colleges in my area (Houston) offering pathophysiology. For the student that's in Houston, where did you take this course?

Thank you.

Specializes in ICU, CVICU.

If you have an acceptance to TAMU-CC (not necessarily the e-line program) they have a pathphys class online.

To answer your first question, you will enroll and graduate from Del Mar College or TAMU-CC. We are students at those schools and every thing that applies to on-campus students applies to us. E-line is just a name. Everything you do will be through the college/university. We have the exact same classes as the on-campus students and we are required to do the same amount of work. It's just a different method of delivery for all of the same information.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to the second question because I'm not in Houston. But you can take it online through TAMU-CC like someone else said.

Hi, I think I contacted you before , I was going to apply in for august but will have 4 classes, in progress .I wanted to know is e-line as competitive as actual campus based program , als s how was the Hesi I still have to take that . I am assuming I will have a 3.5 when (at the lowest )when I finish my pre-reqs .and am just wondering if I should apply now for fall or sprin when I am done with all the pre-reqs

No, I don't believe e-line is as competitive. Alot of people are hesitant to go this route because it is a new concept. Also, alot of people don't know about the program. You can apply to the program while you are finishing your last classes, but you will not be officially admitted and allowed to start until all classes have been completed and the transcripts have be received and reviewed by the school. So, if you are finishing your classes in August, you can apply in July, but you will not be able to start until Sept. or Oct. If you are taking classes this fall to finish pre-reqs, then you can apply in November, but you won't be able to start until Jan. or Feb. Does that make sense????

As far the HESI, I didn't have to take an entrance HESI for TAMU-CC. Only Del Mar requires the entrance exam and I believe they require one in the first semester.

Hi there!!

Ok another question here! I reside in Houston and am interested in this program and read that the closest location for clinicals is in College Station--right? :)

My question is---How frequent are these clinicals and if a location doesn't get set up here in Houston---how often/frequent would one have to commute to College Station and for how long? Any ideas?

Eeek!

Any info. is greatly appreciated! :)

Ok its been since 06 since anyone has posted here. I am from Houston and want to know if anyone has done clinicals here? What about the program did you graduate (students from here) and what advice would you give if we are looking into this program? I also have a full time job and a newborn while trying to earn my BSN. How time consuming was this? Any advice and tips are appreciated! Thanks
