Today was part 1 of our nursing school orientation. They had all accepted students come to a mandatory orientation today, whether we were placed in Fall or Spring cohorts. Instead of just reading on a piece of paper that I was accepted, it finally felt REAL today! We met 2 of the faculty and the program director. It was great seeing so many people I knew from other courses had made it in as well. None of us seem to be in the same cohort together.
Lots of info on equipment we'll need to buy (stethoscope, penlight, uniforms, etc.) I'm so excited to go try on our scrub uniforms and place my order my uniforms
Part 2 of orientation will be 1 week before nursing school starts in the fall. Until then, I have to get all my vaccination records in order, get a background check completed and submitted to the school. Can't wait to jump in to nursing school in August!!!!!

I cant wait for orientation..... ours isn't until July though. We have to have all the vaccines and paperwork done before we go.

NICE!!!!!
Remember - no matter how rough it gets or how crazy it feels you EARNED your spot;)
Don't be like the people on here who complain about every detail of their program.
It's not your program, it's theres. and that program is going to make our dreams happen.
Do what you need to do to get that RN license!!
Im almost done with my 1st semester and you guys will be great!:)
Good luck, MommaTy!
Thank you, Jessatkinson86 I like to focus on the positive and I'm eager to get started and LEARN! I certainly don't want to be a complainer. Anything worth doing is going to be a challenge. I'm up for the challenge!!! Can't wait to get started.
Just ordered my nursing school uniforms today. Also bought my stethoscope (Littman Classic SE II), medimeter, penlight & scissors. Already have the appropriate shoes from my phlebotomy externship, so saved on that. Now I just have to get my vaccination records in order and submit my background check with the State.

My official orientation is next Thursday and Friday and I'm beyond excited!! And I can't believe how fast the past six months have flown by since I was accepted. Before I know it December '15 will be here and I'll be graduating.
Congrats, Tinker88 & KAR813! Enjoy your orientation!

I'm writing to you because I noticed your positive review of Chamberlain. How do you like the program so far? I'm looking for students that have attended Chamberlain.
I am set to start in September 2018 and I wonder how the chamberlain system teaches the Plan of Care. At a previous college I was dropped in the deep end with the internet, google and some books and told to "create a care plan" and they had only a template and no one on one guidance. I was shocked. then my evaluator chided me for not following instructions. ugh. I am looking for respect from teachers because I give them respect.
How was your experience at Chamberlain? Thanks for your help.
2) also, how do you get ready for a test? does the professor usually give you practice questions (not the exact questions but similar ones to keep the energy up?)
Did I read correctly that you are finished? If so, congratulations. You see like a positive person and I look forward to any suggestions that you have... I'm also hunting on allnurses to figure out how to find the forum for Chamberlain's program at Miramar Florida. Do you know how I can navigate to the chamberlain forum?
