sooo, we were having a WAYYYYY stressful shift the other day.....call-lights going off CONSTANTLY... I as stressed to the max, but somehwere around the middle of the shift, I had this funny thought as I practically ran from my last call light request to the next...."we are like Pavlov's Dogs!" (well, except instead of salivating and getting a TREAT part---LOL!) The bell rings, we get there as briskly as we can....then lo and behold, yet ANOTHER bell is going off, and then.....ANOTHER!!! I'm glad that God brought this very FUNNY thought to me, since I would've cried otherwise! (I'm kidding, I wasn't THAT stressed that I'd cry!)P.S....I ended up staying FIFTEEN hours, if that gives a better picture of what a ROUGH day it was!!! 0 Likes

Sometimes when the phone rings NON STOP in my OR, I answer "Dominos Pizza. Would you like to hear our specials?" Thankfully, only our staff and docs know the numbers to each room, so they play along and place their order...sterile thin crust with extra cheese!I often think of cattle being herded into pasture when I am walking into work with the rest of the thousands of staff at our hospital. 0 Likes
