I am still waiting to hear from anyone who has, or who will test at Gwinnette Hospital in Lawrenceville GA for the CPNE. I haven't found anyone on the EC message boards either. Is this a super secret hospital, or is it just that bad that no one wants to admit testing there. I test on Feb 20-22, and getting a little freaked. Don't want to tbe the only one to show up that day.:bowingpur:banghead:

I'm not testing but I'm an EC grad. I've identified at least 6 people here who are grads. Don't worry about it. I was suprised to hear gwinnett Med Cntr as a testing site. I thought grady in downtown Atlanta was the CPNE site for the area.
Go ahead and PM me, I can tell you about the hosptial.

There are some posts from November on the EPN (in the CPNE journals) for people who have passed at Gwinnett recently -- November 12 and November 9.
Good luck!!
Youwon't be the only one showing up. SO don't worry. Only a small percentage of the people enrolled in EC hang out here. As I'm an employee of Gwinnett Med Center, drop me a line. I can give you a heads up.

I tested there. It was a positive experience. The people who grade you won't necessarily be on staff there so there is no guarantee about what you will find. One thing I liked was that all the rooms were private and all the medications were in the room, so I didn't have to go find them somewhere else and give myself more opportunity to screw up. I suppose that could have changed too. YMMV.

masnurse,
just saw your post. gwinnett was a very good place to test. they did not give me anything too hard. just know your critical elements and keep your focus with a grid or whatever works for you to keep you on track with your assessment and your charting. show caring and be aware of patient needs. the ca, mrs. toomer (i think) is a very soft spoken, caring woman, who gets excited for you if you do well. everything is spelled out in your study guide, no surprises. don't read too much into your areas of care. get them done, and get out of the room before something off the wall happens. keep you primary nurse informed about anything the patient may want, or anything you find that was not told to you during report. i will be glad to answer any other questions you have. btw, there is construction going on now. the main lobby is closed off. follow the signs up a ramp, and there will be a few chairs in a hallway that serves for a lobby. also, there is a charge for parking if you drive yourself. max of $3 per day.
I take it that things went well. I didn't get any panic phone calls. :)
