GSU Spring 2011 Applicants (BSN)

Published

Hello to everyone,

I decided to start a thread:idea: to find out if there's anyone who's applied or plans to apply to Georgia Stat University's Spring 2011 program. I have already sent out my application package in the middle of August. I know that we won't start hearing anything until October, but I figured it would help reduce the pressure of the wait for us to have discussions about it here.

Hope to hear from GSU applicants soon; and if there are former/current BLSON students :nurse: on here that can give us some advice and helpful words :twocents: it would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Oh, when I spoke to the department last week they said they're sending more this week and more people should have them by the end of the week. They're not waiting for the first 14 before they send more. That's why some wait-listers have to wait till the end of November because as people decline, they accept more people.

Oh ok, I was wondering how it all worked out. Thanks for clearing that up.

:o thanks guys!

Hate to be the one to bring us to reality, but they have been sending rejection letters. My friend got one today. I felt so bad for her... God haas his plans for us and all of us who are still waiting can do right now is wait on him.

SweetPEI.....thanks for the update. Do you have any idea what your friends gpa and TEAS scores were? I hate asking but........ It sounds terrible as I see it in print but....... I am trying to prepare myself for both outcomes and appreciate knowing that either type of letter could be in my mailbox. I would hate expecting an acceptance letter and getting the hard reality of a rejection without any "heads up". Again, thank you for the info.

AS SOON AS AS I READ THE ABOVE QUOTE, MY HEART STARTING BEATING OUT OF MY CHEST!!! I'm so scared its rediculous. But SweetPEI, you couldnt be more right. We've done our part by working hard, now all we can do is let God do His part and be hopeful. Sigh......................the torture continues..............

@lcamp LOL! dont feel bad, I kinda wanna know the same thing.

My friend consulted with an admissions person about her 3.7 GPA and 85 on the TEAS and they said that she would probably get an acceptance letter but it might be in one of the middle to later rounds. Hope that helps anyone. Good luck to all!

Thanks so much for that update. I'm even more freaked out now, but it's good information to know. I'm sorry for your friend, I hope she applied to other schools, and doesn't give up on her dream.

gsuhopeful....you are right. Regardless of what the letter says, we all must continune to pursue our dream. There may very well be a reason why the acceptance is granted or why a rejection is decided that we are SO-O-O unaware of at the time. God may be protecting or preparing us for something. We have to have faith in whatever happens. I was just reading some inspirational material and it reminded me how faith is key. For those out there who have been accepted, a great big congrats to you. For those who received letters that now is not the time, keep working, dreaming and pursuing. There is a reason. Someday you will be able to look back and have a better idea of what was in the making. HANG IN THERE!!! You can do this!!! We all can. Determination and perseverance are part of the foundation of dreams coming true. God's hand is a work and we have to be willing to keep at it regardless of what happens. He didn't give up on us and we won't give up on what we know is a seed planted by Him.

Hey guys... My friends gpa wasa 3.6 & 79 on the teas. This is really not that great, but at the same time, after they send out the first round of letters for the people who were top notch its not just about gpa. In my opinion she didn't have really good reference letters, her essay didn't really talk about a healthcare crisis and her reason for becoming a nurse was pretty general. Yes guys, she's my friend, but I'm being blunt on purpose so that y'all can have a more rounded perspective and the possible additional reasons that she might have gotten rejected.

Since then, my hands have been shaking twice as hard when I check my mail.

Yes, she is depressed, says she wants to change her major. I just encouraged her to continue applying to other schools, which she's gonna do. Hopefully it all works out....

And hopefully it all works out for those off us who are still waiting.

@s victor THANKS!!!!!!!! :D
