Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA

Hey guys! New to this thread. I hope everyone is having a great new year so far. :) Im a current georgia state student and I recently applied to Chamberlain. I was actually already accepted and started gsu's nursing program in spring 2011 but I couldnt continue for a couple reasons and now I am re-applying back to nursing school. Im taking the HESI on tuesday 1/8. I scored a 95 on the TEAS so hopefully I do well on the hesi too. Does anyone know if Precalculus (Math 1113 at GSU) will transfer to cover College Algebra in chamberlain's curriculum? I took a math placement exam and I did so well I was eligible to take calc 2, but i just stuck with trig/pre-cal and it's higher up than college algebra. But I think an admissions rep at Chamberlain told me it might not transfer because its a different type of math. But that would suck for me to have to take it when I obviously know it in depth as per my placement exam. Can anyone ask for me perhaps? And anyone who went to gsu, what classes transferred for you? I will also hopefully transfer the nursing classes that I did complete. Thank you so much! And good luck with nursing school guys! You will do great. But beware of pharmacology, that was the hardest class I ever took. uggghhh.

I volunteered at a hospital for 4 years, the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 3 years (still current), Atlanta Center for the Visually Impaired for a year, and i shadowed my physician for 100 hours. I've volunteered at quite a few other places too but these are the ones I was able to hand in in time.

wow, im shocked that no one has received any type of letter yet. Probably because there are extra components to the application this semester so its taking them longer. I really wanna know what classes I'll be taking next semester. The wait continues....

great stats hcs! You're going to get in! im almost sure. lol. And yeah, i heard they started a new repeat to replace system so anything taken twice would be averaged. So the Biol1 & 2 you retook would be a 3.5 for each of those classes and 4.0 in any A's you got the first time. Then they'll probably calculate the science average overall from those #'s. If this doesnt work out i'll probably change my major to psych and try to complete the pre-med sequences that I once started, while trying to re-apply. I need a miracle from God right now. I've been fasting & praying and its keeping me so calm. Calm enough not to stalk the nursing department every week. lol

Oh cool! I remember that post! lol. Well My stats are 3.74 Program GPA, 95.0% TEAS, Micro-A, Chem1151/1152- both A, Anatomy1-A, Anatomy2- currently retaking. They also added a new volunteer section. I think you get an extra point for every volunteer position you had. I volunteered for many places but I was able to get signed forms from 3 of them. I applied for ACE & Trad! :) And yes, I have personally witnessed for 4 semesters in a row, that this is the week they send the first batch of letters out. People usually get their letters on Friday or Saturday. So im getting really nervous. But they send them out every week so dont freak out. No response is better than a rejection. It means you're still in the game and can get a miracle! lol

    GSU Fall 2012

kuhelski, I have a CNA degree. My high school had this dual degree program where certain students were able to take CNA classes at our school. Its an ok degree to have. The work itself is annoying. We did our clinicals at a nursing home and we had to feed the patients, wipe their faces, take their baths, make their beds, clean them after they used the bathroom, etc. Its like babysitting. But if u do it part time, making $10-$13 an hour isnt half bad. lol
